Can anyone who currently rides a Stelvio post up your current MPG's?  I'm liking the new Tenere, but just read a new article on the new Stelvio.  It's supposed to have a 8.4 gallon tank, and I read the fuel economy has been improved by 10%.

So for current Stelvio riders, what are you getting?

The early Stelvios with the A8 motor will get About 5.2 litres to 100Km if you ride gently. The ones with the A5motor (NTX.) get slightly more say 5l/100Kmdue to the softer camming and different mapping. Start riding any of the 8V's hard and you'll immediately loose at least a litre per hundred and probably more. They aren't the world's most ecconomical engines and they are a heavy bike. The whole thing is a bit immaterial really though as nobody with half a brain would take ANY of the big 'Dual Purpose' bikes anywhere seriously off road. They are all simply too greedy and heavy. OK if you have an enormous support crew tagging along with you like that pair of acting pillocks 'Shagger' and 'Knobber' or whatever they're called but for mere mortals who want to ride in places a bit off the beaten track a DR400 Suzuki is a far better bet.

^ what he said, I count on 43-45 average for me with some dips into the 30's if constant high speeds and in "perfect" conditions near 50 mpg. Much better after broken in and with the new tune, it's almost exactly what my R1200 gave me.

I've not ridden the "de tuned" version Lol, but the "A8" motor is a hoot to ride and very manageable on dirt roads/speeds to triple digit cruising, don't dismiss it because the early bikes hadn't been sorted (shame on them, but much better than how Duc and a few others have handled lean tuning, etc.).

Test ride!
