Anyone ST on an SV1000S?

I may be picking up an SV1000S tomorrow. It has the LSL Superbike Kit and and few other addons. Anyone use these as a ST mount? Any common adds to make it livable for long days in the saddle?

Halfway through an eleven-day trip a few years ago:
The suspension responds well to proper setup. Set the sag, it makes a big difference. I had to add a 15mm spacer between the spring and preload adjuster to get the front end where I wanted, the rear was just good right out of the box. The spring rate at either end suits me just fine.
Helibars and a Trottlemeister work up front. I replaced the stock footpegs with Buell pegs, they add an inch of legroom and I can say that I've got Harley parts on the bike.
I've got Suzuki's accessory ST screen installed. It's moved the sweet spot up to about 130 kph. I don't notice that it's noisier than the stock screen.
I had a Sargent seat but have just replaced that with Suzuki's gel seat. Haven't got enough miles on that to tell if it's any better.

Agree with most of what has already been said...here is what I had on mine.
Buell peg mod - lower by at least 1"
Suzuki gel seat
I used the O-ring throttle lock. Cheapest throttle lock out there! Its just an O-ring that fits between the grip and the bar end weight...roll it into the groove to hold the throttle, roll it out to release.
TPS adjust - make sure the throttle position sensor is activating at the correct time
sync throttle bodies
Larger wind screen. I used a double bubble...liked it decent enough.
I had the SW Motech tail rack with a HUGE givi on the back, and a large tank bag
REMOVE secondary throttle butterflies - MUCH better throttle response, much smoother!!! I can't suggest this enough!
PAIR removal - if you don't like the popping of the exhaust or the environment
timing retard eliminator - can make this with a couple resistors, makes a decent difference in 1 and 2nd gears. Easier to start off with a full load and passengar without slipping the clutch as much
Things to watch:
leaking slave cylinder on the clutch!!! Bad design from the factory, may have to update to the new design. You will start losing fluid...then POOF, no clutch.
pealing paint on engine cases...well, mine did anyways
"the knock" - the what? There is more to read on the SV1000 site on this than you can shake a stick at. Mine had it...the whole time I owned it...ran like a top until I sold it with 3X,XXX miles.

Which Buell pegs? Lightning?
Can you do the TPS reset yourself, or does it require a dealer scan tool?
What's involved in the PAIR removal?

Buell pegs.
TPS reset.
Don't know if you can view these threads without registering.
No need to remove the PAIR system unless you're running aftermarket cans.

Not an SV, but I used to tour on a Superhawk, so some of the same issues apply. I'd get a throttle lock if you can find one to work on the SV (Throttlemeister?). I used a cheap NEP - worked fine for avoiding wrist fatigue. I never tried one, but I've been told that the seat beads actually do make for a more comfortable ride. Multiple 300 mile days riding in that position, for me, did my ass in, even with a Sargent seat. Maybe the beads would help. (The LSL bars may take of this issue, though.) One of those swing arm props for chain maintenance might be a good investment.

Buell pegs are not a bolt on, they must be modified. I have an extra set, ready to bolt on for $20.00 plus shipping. TPS is easy, go to
http://www.sv-portal.com/forums/
and you will find something or use a shop manual. Both my SV1000s do not pop or backfire with Leo Vince exhausts and stock Pair system.

Have an 07 black SV1KS w/ Convertibars, Sargeant Seat (although I'd be very curious to check out a Suzuki Gel seat), Givi screen and Buell Pegs. While it's not a great mount for touring, it's pretty decent. It would be great if it had a larger gas tank, and the stretch across the tank to the handle bars is still a tad too long... even w/ the Convertibars. Bike has been reliable so far, but sadly, my mileage per year has dropped of dramatically. I only have about 7k on the bike.
Did a trip to OH, W VA, VA, PA last year
http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,52669.0.html
. Riding the slab gets old, but that's of any bike. However, once we were in the Appalachians, I was happy I was on this bike.
As someone else mentioned, fiddling w/ the suspension pays dividends. Is it as good as what's offered on sport bikes now, no, but for the street it's pretty decent. I'm currently using Nelson Riggs touring luggage that I don't find as good as the Tourmaster/Cortec luggage my wife runs on her 2003 Kawi Z1000. The NR tail pack tends to rock back and forth to an annoying degree, especially when expanded. I may purchase the Tourmaster luggage for this season. I've considered hard bags (Givi and what not) but like the ease of taking the luggage off the bike when on the road and doing a day trip w/out luggage.
