I'm really not in favor with making consumer items into State Symbols. The whole idea seems bad and opens the gates for other corporations to lobby for inclusion. What's next? Auntie Anne's the soft pretzel of PA? Yuengling the beer of PA? (ok, that's one I can get behind). Martin Guitars the official guitar of PA? Hershey the official chocolate of PA, and crayola the official crayon of PA? Zippo the Lighter of PA?
Then again, we have the Slinky as the Official State Toy, so who knows.
What other States could get Official Motorcycles?
Fisher the Official Motorcycle of MD
Confederate the Official Motorcycle of AL
Victory the Official Motorcycle of MN
Boss Hoss the Official Motorcycle of TN
Actually, I think you're on to something: the states should help reduce their deficits by
selling these endorsements.
