Congrats Smeg.  You always spoke fondly of your old TDM, I suspect this is probably why you migrated to the Versys? Thumbsup

Yes Neal, I think I've realised I like twin cylinder motors best of all, be it a parallel twin, boxer or V (I've never owned a V twin, but ridden plenty). There's just a bit more character in these compared to the likes of an in-line four. TBH, The FZS1000 I sold to buy the Versys although fast, reasonably comfy etc was just a bit too boring (never thought I'd say that about any motorcycle) and fits the old UJM moniker perfectly.

We have a Versys also.  I took the seat to a local guy and told him, two inches wider on each side two inches thicker on the foam and move the hump bad two inches.  Cost 200.  The seat is now awesome.

We have had the Versys for two years now and like it more each time it gets rode.

Six weeks in and now have over 1400 miles on the V. I still think it's really great and I don't miss having an uber sized adventure bike. I was over to Scotland this past week and did a trip with a good friend who lives over there now. I had to play keep up with him on his Honda FireStorm which didn't cause any problems even tho' he doesn't hang around. Amazingly, I also got 62.7 mpg (imperial) on my last tankful before heading for the ferry home to Northern Ireland. This bike just keeps impressing me and right now, there's not much out there that I see can do any better a job, especially taking into account price and running costs.
