Made it to my girlfriends place in Buguruslan, Orenburg Oblast, Russia last night about 9pm. 4100 miles, 15 countries, bike was great, people were friendly all the way and Marina was happy to see me! Gave me a talking to though, she expected me around the 27th and I hadn't told her I was coming on the bike.
Croatia is beautiful, Montenegro and Albania are really rocky, Romania is flat, Ukraine roads suck and Russia is big. Had a few long border crossings, Dubosari a young officer helped me out, the Ukraine they weren't sure what I was doing so they got an english speaker on the phone. Been there almost two hours, told him I was going to Russia to visit my girl and was on the road in 15 minutes. At the Russian border a very nice Customs lady came over and showed me how to fill out my declaration.
The only thing wrong with this trip was I waited 40 years too long to do it. I was in the Ukraine with no Ukrainian cash the first night, couldn't find an ATM and stopped at a roadside cafe. The lady there let me buy a coffee with Euros, it was about 11pm, cold and dark, boy, that tasted good. Last night on the road, a cabby in Borisogladesh led me right to a hotel and made sure I could get a room.

Wait I missed the most important part of this thread............how do I get a Russian girlfriend??   Inlove

On a slightly more serious note.  That's awesome you got to do a ride like that.  It's not high up on my list of things to do myself as there is lots of the US and Canada (well all of Canada but St. Johns Lol ) that I haven't seen yet and it'll take me a while to see it all.
