Ducati Diavel on Prince William's wedding gift list?

£16,000 monster could be Prince's new wheels

AVID motorcyclist Prince William is rumoured to have a Ducati Diavel Carbon on his wedding gift list.

Our source - a motorcycle dealer - claims he sold a Ducati Diavel Carbon to a company who work for a Middle-Eastern royal family. The company bought the bike and sent an engraver to the dealership to have the top yoke engraved with the date of the Royal Wedding. The bike was then delivered to a location in Berkshire.

The Prince currently rides a top of the range Ducati 1198SP superbike, costing £17,000. The Ducati Diavel is new for 2011 and features a similar engine to the 1198SP, it costs £15,895.

The Ducati Diavel Carbon is the top of the range Diavel, featuring carbon fibre panels and lightweight wheels which shed some of the bike's weight and help it achieve a 0-60mph time of 2.8 seconds. You can read our Ducati Diavel Carbon review here.

Once he's married, we wonder whether Kate will have anything to say about Prince William's passion for fast motorcycles..

Interesting thought.   Bigsmile

Unlike mere mortals, though, I bet that Prince William has time to get out and ride after the royal kids show up.   Shrug

Is there a better advertisement for motorbiking than Prince William on a flash Ducati?  Perhaps not.

Wouldn't it be fun to be on his security detail?  "Honey, the Crown furnished me with this glossy Triumph Speed Triple so I can keep up with his Highness."

But then it wouldn't have been a public holiday and I wouldn't have got an extra day off.

Mighty pompous to ask for such a thing when there are alot of poverished people in the world...............but then again, I am not royalty nor do I want to be.  Just comfortable in my day to day affairs and provide for my family.

I am not impressed with that family but nor am I with any of the wealthy here in the US either.  I find more giving and generosity with those who hardly have a dime doing for their fellow man than the rich.

Usually the way it goes however in life.
