Hi everyone,

I've been on the site a little while, but this is actually my first post. I wanted to tell you about a new motorcycle-centric podcast a friend and I started. It's called the Wheelnerds and the site is http://www.wheelnerds.com/.

Basically, we're about making fun of each other, people we know, and stuff we might have heard of and talk a lot about motorcycles. We're not solely focused on any one aspect, instead we'll talk about any facet of the two-wheeled variety and make it entertaining. We're no experts on anything, we're just two guys that love motorcycles, talking about them, and making each other laugh. And we want to share that with you.

You can subscribe to the Wheelnerds via Itunes store, or just plop this into the podcast subscriber/listener thingy of your choice: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheWheelNerds

The first episode: Buell and Consequences is available now from the website. The Second episode will be coming out Friday and is entitled, Bounce Houses, Not Bands. Teaser for that one is posted as well.

We'll be releasing a new show each week! Give us a listen and contact us with comments, questions, topic suggestions, etc.

We were going to start TV show where I grow a big mustache and kick down doors while Todd yells at me and someone else builds a bike, but that market's been cornered...

Almost through 1st episode.  Like to hear more about the bikes... shitty luck on the beginning of the ride, but what ended up happening to the Buell? I'll get there...

Cool! I'm pulling up iTunes now to subscribe. I'm addicted to The Pace, but more is better, right? It'll be like having two nights a week hanging with different friends to talk motorcycles. I don't have cable tv at home, so I need more to listen to.   Bigok

Episode 2: Bounce Houses, NOT Bands is posted now for listening. Hey, look, we're not just a one-shot gig Bigsmile

http://wheelnerds.com/2011/05/06/episode-2-bounce-houses-not-bands/

As we talk about in further episodes, the clutch pack replacement is actually really easy and straight-forward unless you're me. In which case, you make things explode just by looking at em. My first quick clutch repair fix ended up with the whole hub shattering.... cuz I'm genius like that. I did get the clutch sorted and set though. The Buell runs!

Welp, I know what I'm having nightmares about tonight...

Listened to 1st episode today. Liked it. Comments:

Technical:
Adjust your noise gate. The cutting in and out is annoying.

I think your cell phones were coming through in a couple of places. I kept hearing that weird "bripping" noise that cell phones make sometimes when close to other electronic devices.

Content:
The stories were funny and I like your chemistry, but you're a bit giggly.

Good start. Don't sweat it, I'm very critical. Just ask the Pace guys.

We learned a lot of things with the first podcast. No cell phones (you're right about that one) and computer behind a closed door was the rule for episode 2 (the computer's fan was the reason for the merciless noise gate in episode 1).

The rule for episode 3 turned out to be "one beer per wheelnerd per podcast..."  Bigsmile

Glad you enjoyed it and hope you listen in for more!  Thumbsup

Cool, very useful insights, thanks!  (This is Todd who is evidentially not funny.)

Tech wise we're working in a room in Chuck's basement dubbed the "troll cave."  Chuck alluded to the steady changes and operating procedures we've been making and I think it's paying off.

When we get more practiced I think we might get to a point like you guys where we just come in, lay it down, post and run, but for the moment  I think we're developing a good rhythm.  Generally speaking we both blather and say "um" a lot (Chuck's um looks like australia, mine is spikey then tapers.)  We end up recording at about 1.2-1.8 to 1 ratio, which to my film-production trained mind is OMG so small.  I like the ability to tighten some bits up to keep it brisk and funny.   We're using the finest usb condenser mic money can buy (where money is defined as 30 bucks.)

Thanks for the kind words and useful feedback!
