What do I need to listen to my Nuvi 765 GPS via stereo bluetooth?

I bought a Jabra BT325s Bluetooth Stereo Headset, but it only connects to the Nuvi as a phone device - it doesn't recieve audio from the Nuvi.

Most Nuvi's with bluetooth will only connect to a phone. They're designed for making hands free calls in a car, using the bult-in speaker/mic. I don't think any Nuvi will connect with a headset using bluetooth, but I'm not 100% sure.

This worked well with the Zumo 550

I have an Acoustic Research ARWH1 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. I use it with my Nuvi 765t. I listen to the turn by turn directions via bluetooth. It will connect to more than one device so, at times,  I connect to my cell phone. It has a built in mic and I actually clip it inside my helmet, with ear buds in my ears connected to the ARWH1.  EEK!
I have had it a year, a year ago it was only $20, it seems to have doubled in price since then!

The Jabra BT325s does not support the A2DP Bluetooth profile which is the profile used for transmitting stereo audio. It only supports AVRCP. As the Nuvi supports A2DP, you would need a A2DP profile capable Bluetooth receiver. I've got one of these - http://www.dealextreme.com/p/bluetooth-2-0-a2dp-avrcp-stereo-music-receiver-and-handsfree-black-8422 and it works with my Zumo 660. This particular receiver supports both A2DP and AVRCP, so if you wanted you could use a non-wireless stereo headset with mic. This might be preferable to using the Jabra with a separate receiver. If you use the Jabra and a Bluetooth receiver you end up with two batteries to keep charged, the Jabra's battery and the Bluetooth receiver's.

Ray's got it correct, an A2DP stereo headset is the ticket.

Pardon my confusion.  The BT325s is a "Stereo Bluetooth" headset - can it be stereo w/o being A2DP??

Beats me, but that's what I found out when I looked it up. I think the clue here is that it has a 3.5mm male plug connection. I think it is intended to plug into an MP3 player (this is the "stereo" capability) and integrate a bluetooth phone using AVRCP. If it supported both A2DP and AVRCP I wouldn't get why it would have a 3.5mm plug.

Ray is right again - Look for A2DP...

I got the ARWH1 and it's workin GREAT.
I haven't paired it with the GPS and the phone yet, but I'm sure that'll work (or I'll just pair the GPS with the phone and the headset receiver).
Still disappointed with the Jabra...  damm marketing!

Edit:  The ARWH1 has a 'talk time' of 5 hrs.  I'm going to keep an eye on the battery duration (after a cpl charge & use cycles) but may buy the dealxtreme no-name unit as a back-up for long days/trips.

Also, the ARWH1 charges with a micro-usb, same as my MP3 and camera.

Edit;  Found out that the ARWH1 has a proprietary charging cable.  The micro-USB cable I use to charge my MP3 player fits in the ARWH1, but my PC freezes up when I plug it in.
