Yes, I know...it does not exist until I post pics, but its raining, it's NOT getting wet yet, my wife and I have not had dinner and we're hungry. Plus, after letting me get this thing, she deserves some attention.

Here's what followed me home:    http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2011/03/2011-triumph-sprint-gt-md-ride-review-from-four-different-perspectives/

Yes, I know...I caved. I wanted something smaller/lighter, but I test rode it, and I freaking loved it. Same silver....

My '01 would have needed some $2k of work (front rotors, the 36k mile service, a new rear shock) and still, I got $2500 in trade for it and $1k off on a new bike, so..it was a very rational decision and I think a helluva good deal.

Now, for sunshine!!!!!!!!!!! Thumbsup

Congrats on the GT.

I test rode a GT last month and i have to say triumph did there homework. I rode the ST 2 years ago and allthough it was a good bike it just didn't impress me. The GT on the otherhand really impressed me.

On a side note, i took the street triple R out and i came back with the biggest grin on my face. I had a hard time getting my helmet off.

Wow!  Congrats Galo!!!  I hope to see it and you at the WCRM.

I hope you are over the "don't want to get it wet" phase by then....   Lol

No, I won't be. Hell, no....no way, no how.  Not yet, anyway

Thanks for the laugh, Endo.
But, I prolly wont make it to WCRM this year. I've just too few vacation/PTO days this year due to to my change of employment, so I wont have enough days accrued by summer to make both the WCRM and the BBBBQ, so I'll be heading up to Canuckistan again this year.

Thanks...my old Sprint lasted 10 years...it was time. Ten years with one bike? I have to say I have been a really good boy.... Smile

I was very surprised by this bike. Reading all the 'they made it heavier' or 'the longer wheelbase makes it slower' stuff that's been written hither and yon, I was expecting a pig. Not so at all. Yes, they stretched the wheelbase, but they also reduced the trail, essentially making the steering quicker. My impression is that initial turn-in is as quick if not quicker than my old ST. I have not pushed it hard on corners yet, but that will come soon. The 1050 mill just puts the 955 to shame in every respect, specially NVH. Makes the 955 seem like a rather agricultural engine by comparison. Tranny is much quicker-shifting and smoother, fueling is spot-on....overall, a much more refined package. Given I am 10 years older now than I was when I purchased the ST, I'm okay with maybe a tad less 'sport' than the ST was, in exchange for all the other improvements
 Thumbsup

PS: it's raining today so it's staying in the garage.... Lol
