Congrats on the new GT 1050.  Bigok  Those new style sidecases really make the bike for me.  It's too bad the lower-mounted exhaust covers the floating rear wheel.  Thanks for the bigger pic.

Congrats! I picked up my blue one in January, it is an excellent bike. You are the 3rd person who has written about how the bike is better than their ST, even though the motorcycle press kind of came down on it. THe bike is  a blast to ride solo but also completely suitable for multi-day trips with a passenger.

Enjoy!

I was just eyeing one up at the Dealer a few days ago.  It did look kinda big with saddle bags on but it also had a tank bag so that made it seem a little larger.

I'll probaby want to test drive one later in the summer.

Thanks for the laugh, Endo.
But, I prolly wont make it to WCRM this year. I've just too few vacation/PTO days this year due to to my change of employment, so I wont have enough days accrued by summer to make both the WCRM and the BBBBQ, so I'll be heading up to Canuckistan again this year.

Glad to hear the BBBBBBBBBBQ part,  I certainly missed meeting a couple of you guys last year.

It'll be interesting to see a comparison between the Sprint and the Ninja 1K - seems inevitable if hasn't already been written.

You're a lucky man, Ride ... thems some nice roads to be riding.   Drool

I think the NVH on the N1K will start to be a pretty common complaint for long days in the saddle.   The motor is great, but damn is it buzzy when in cruising mode. It's also a bit of a thirsty beast, especially compared to the 1050.  Weather protection is not as good, ABS is not even available (standard on the GT), and you can't get factory side cases and top box (one or the other), not to mention side cases are extra (and just rebranded PLX cases).

Plus side, the Ninja is a fair bit lighter and more powerful, there's already strong aftermarket support thanks to the Z1000 sharing so many parts, it's a new look (GT looks just like a ST to the non-enthusiast), much larger dealer network, and of course it's cheaper.  Plus it has Ninja written on it!  Smile
