Anybody up for a ride around lunch or later tomorrow (Sunday)?

Don't have anywhere in particular to go, just something like a 3 or 4 hour ride around and back in time for dinner and before rain might come in...

FalcoFred, you out riding any tomorrow after MotoGP and breakfast?  MK, BentAero, Tiger, Bueller...???

I would love to also but my wife and I have the daycare at church today and will be busy with that.  Otherwise I would meet up and ride for sure!  Thank goodness the daycare only happens once like every other month!

Definitely let me know if you will be riding next weekend any..............I will be on-call for my job all week and next weekend but as long as I have a phone and relatively around I can go ride!

Matt,
Can you give me a start time and place.  I'm going riding today (Sunday) with no particular plans.  Can leave the house by 10am which would put me in the Asheville area an hour and maybe a half later.

It's Charlotte and College, but yes right there by Town Mtn Road where we met last time.

Maybe we can get together for a ride next weekend...  We're probably having an open house next Sunday so that's out for me.  I'm always up for sneaking away for a breakfast or lunch.

Excellent ride!   Got to go longer next time  Smile
Lucked out on the way up and way back, Hickory Nut Gap, between Bat Cave and Asheville was M T.  It was like my own personal race track.  That doesn't happen.   At the turn off to Hendersonville, I was lucky enough to get behind a pirate parade all the way to 9 heading south, what fun  Lol

Matt,
Thanks for the invite, I was down at the IronHorse Campground attending a V-Strom rally this weekend. I did get up through Asheville on my way home for some wings at the Wild Wing but it was later in the afternoon.

It was a good ride.  You can't go wrong with several hours in Madison County.  I totally forgot that the BikeFest was this weekend at the fairgrounds.  A couple of friends went on Sunday and said it was lightly attended...  The Thunder in the Smokies was also in Maggie Valley so there were a lot of pirates out but not in the twisties.

Last week my girl's school had a benefit dinner dealio at Wild Wings and at least three people came out of it with food poisoning.  They're always good but be sure to wash it down with some alcohol... Smile  I'm tellin' ya, we need to have a ride and then meet at Wild Wings and see a Tourists game...  good stuff.

Matt, Sorry I couldn't make it, but I left Sunday headed for CMP for the US Desmo track day on Monday.  Had a ball flogging the SV all day.

While near the Ag Center on Sunday afternoon we saw both riders who attended the rally.  Rolleyes

You'll have to fill me in on the fun.  I'd really like to get down there for a track day.

Bump for another ride tomorrow - Sunday early afternoon.  3 or 4 of us are tentatively getting together early afternoon to ride until around 5:00 or so.  Don't have any particular destination or direction in mind...  but I'm thinking southwest of Asheville in the 215 and Jackson/Macon Co area.  But, the Bakersville area might be nice also...

Weather is supposed to be nice again tomorrow so let me know if you want to come along.

Hi Matt,
Hope I run into you.  I'm rolling in less than half an hour, 8am and will be all over that area.

We're going to meet at the Hardee's at Exit 44 on I-40 (Smoky Park Highway) at 1:00 to head southwest.  Come on out if you want to join us.  There will be a VFR, ST, FZ1, and either a Tiger 1050 or an SV.  Brisk pace, unless a couple of these guys haven't recovered from the party last night or forgot to take their Geritol...  lightweights...

Great day to ride with most roads pretty empty.  I thought I saw you on 212 about 12:30 but apparently not.  Hope you guys had a great ride.

We had a very good ride today.  It did get pretty hot in a few places.  We took a wrong turn out there somewhere and ended up more south and hitting 64 towards the end of the day - we were shooting for getting over towards Franklin but didn't make it.  We came back on 64 from around Cashiers and it was pure pain riding behind a string of cars doing 30 mph...  Saw quite a few bikes out - especially Harleys and BMWs.

You caught the roads at a good time up north Rod.  With the storm that just came through there is probably crap in the roads up there now.

Everybody have a good week.  And remember that Wednesday is bike night at the Wedge down on the river in Asheville.

Sometime we have to hit a ride at oh dark thirty on a Saturday.  Once you hit lunch time the roads just seem to clog up.  64 is a fantastic road BUT you have to hit it just right.  Sunday morning is best but later in the evening it is OK too.  It has a lot of traffic during the week too.  That's why I avoid it most of the time.

Good night at the Wedge.  About 15 bikes there. Jamie James came by with a couple of his R1 clients.  The place is getting really crowded now though.  There was something with the local breweries competing for going to an out of town event and the judging was going on tonight so that bumped up the crowd.

Weather is looking good this weekend for a ride...
