 Sad

A town of 7,000 about 2 hours from me is halfway burned to the ground. I used to live and work there about 25 years ago, have not been back for a very long time, and don't know anyone there anymore.

Losing 40% of the town's homes and other buildings is unimaginable.

It's nuts.

Hopefully, to wind stays down today so they can use the water bombers.

The last two days have been too windy. Bash

I generally follow US wildfires and have seen burnt out houses, but I don't think that I've ever seen this kind of total destruction  Crazy   There were houses where the *only* thing left were the front concrete stairs  Sad

It's almost like a tornado, but there's zero chance of salvage.

No people have been reported hurt or missing.   Thumbsup

Sadly, a helicopter pilot lost his life near Slave Lake today.
