Any word on the status of the 1200 Sport and US availability? I noticed that some Euro bike reviews are starting to pop up, so it's shipping or about to ship over there.

And another thing...

Why would MG not use the new 8 valve motor, USD forks, and radially mounted calipers from the 2007 Griso on the new 1200 Sport? That would certainly add a bit more Sport to the equation... Bodging the front end of the Griso onto a Breva shouldn't be that hard.

I read on v11lemans.com that it wouldn't be coming in '07.

That's just word of mouth though...no confirmation.

I am not sure the 8V motor has been re-released in a production model yet?

MG just announced last month (in Milan) that the 1200cc 8-valve motor would be in the 2007 Griso. Here's a linky with pics:

I heard an ugly rumor that the engine on display was a wooden mock up...

again...only hearsay.

I talked to Moto International, the local dealer, and I don't believe it's coming here this year.

I would like to see the 8v engine in the Sport and the Norge, but something tells me they have something up their sleeve like maybe a street version of the MGS01 with the 8V in it.

Local dealer here said the Sport would not be coming to the US in '07. I agree with your suspension comments though.

If that's true, and a lot of are hoping it is Inlove  You'll have to be at the local MG dealer with your deposit the day they make the announcement.

I'm going to be in Mandello del Lario on April 6th and have a 1200 Sport rented for the day.   Banana

Pretty cool since the 1200 Sport isn't available in the US at least for this year.  I get to ride one before our local dealer (Moto International) does.

I'll take pics for STN.

FWIW, the new dealer in Ormond Beach/Daytona says he was told the 1200 Sport would be coming here later this year.
