The wife shocked me this week with the idea of her taking the class and getting her license. EEK!

This all stemmed from a discussion about vacationing in Ireland next summer and possibly shipping the Multi over.

She said she would like to ride as well. Headscratch This was out of the blue but hell, I took it as a good opportunity to do some bike shopping.

On to my question. Of all the bikes I think would be good starters the TU250X is the most appealing, upright and can support one of my kids comfortably as pillion.

Any owners out there that can provide experiences?

Congrats!  My wife took a similar leap this spring, too.   Smile  She used a TU250X during her MSF course.  I had directed her toward that bike when we were bike shopping, but there aren't many used deals available and I didn't want her first bike to be a new one.  She ended up with a used LS650 Savage which was a steal.

Her feedback on the MSF's TU250X - it had more low-end pep then her Savage, but the FI fueling was jerky which made low-speed maneuvers less smooth than on her carbed 650.  She said the brakes and handling were very good.  They seem like very good bikes, and boy if she didn't look great on it too.

The MSF folks around here love the TU's.  So do the folks that fix them, at least in my state.  My local Yamaha dealer has the contract to fix all the MSF bikes in Minnesota.  They like the fuel injection and the ease of maintenance on the TU's.   Always wondered why they named them after the Soviet aircraft design bureau though.   Bigsmile

For if time was a thing man could buy, all the money that I have in store,
I would give for one day by her side, in the Valley of Strathmore
