I see a lot of people frying bacon, I highly recommend putting it on a sheet pan and using your oven. The bacon cooks uniform and the fat renders nicely, I think it taste better, plus you can cook a lot of bacon at a time and no grease splatters. This works really well for artisan or thick cut bacon. Give it a try.

Time and temp?

For thick cut bacon:

If using a dark pan, it matters as it browns faster, I go 395 for around 18 minutes for slightly crisp bacon. If you have a normal stainless steel pan it can be somewhere around 22-25 minutes, depending on you like your bacon.

Less time for center cut thin bacon.

I'm with 1K, if I try and fry anymore I just end up getting bacon that is part burned and some under-done.

6:15 AM pre-work "grub and gab" breakfast with my best friend this morning at The Waffle Shop in State College, PA.  I got the "Waffle Treat" which is one waffle, one egg, and two slices of thick-cut bacon...add a Bigelow Constant Comment hot tea and I was a very happy camper, despite the fact that I had to get up at 5 AM to meet her!

If it's meant to be healthy, does that make it "soft core" breakfast pron?!?

Spinach, tomato, and feta omelet (2 whole eggs plus 2 egg whites), sprouted grain toast with homemade clear peach jelly, a bowl of fresh-from-the-garden strawberries, and a blood orange tea:

Oh, and CLAY?  Can you see why I knew what type of dishes you had?   Wink
