When my B1100 is parked in the garage overnight and I go into the garage the next morning I get this smell in the air kind of a fuel smell but more of an oily crankcase vent type smell. The previous owner removed the canister but I'm not sure about the lines, I can see a couple lines along the frame at the back where the old canister used to be. Should these lines be plugged or capped? I've read a bit about the canister removal but haven't been able to see any pictures illustrating the lines in place. I'm thinking that maybe the previous owner just pulled the canister and left the lines as is. Any advice or pictures would be much appreciated.

Does it smell like Extra Virgin Olive Oil? If so don't worry about it.

Yeah, Ideally you would want everything dumping into the airbox so that leaks, fumes, etc get contained/consumed by the engine. It would even make the EPA folks happy if they got off their high horse every once and a while.
