While out riding I came across a Burro in the road, then a Snake and accidently ran it over. When I turned around to see how it was doing it was in strike pose so I did not mess with it. Later on I came accross a Goose that would not move any faster than it wanted. I also seen an albino Turkey/big Chicken/or a really big Partridge. On the way back I seen a Turkey then a Horse and buggy pulling and Amish kid on a push bike.
All of this and I only ran into 1 Memorial Day event and had 1 car pull out in front of me. All in all not a bad day.

Quite the scenic adventure. The fact that through all that, you still made it home with 2 patches of rubber pointing down tells me that it was a very successful day. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm just jealous at the fact that you had the opportunity to get out today.

Glad you made it through the day. I was tooling along and saw something glistening on the road. I slowed straightened up and proceeded through what turned out to be heating oil, spilled from a delivery truck. A near miss, second like it on that road.

Later on I came across a Goose that would not move any faster than it wanted.
This reminds me of the raccoon we saw the day of the Knoebels "Ride to the Rides." As we came up on it, I thought it was a cat, the way it was standing in the road in broad daylight with its back all hunched up in the air. As we went passed it, I saw the "bandit's mask" face and thought, "Holy s*** that was awesome!" It should be noted that I love raccoons; I certainly know that a raccoon out in broad daylight is bad news. It's just that I so rarely see them and this guy wasn't going anywhere, no matter how many motorcycles buzzed right by him! The only critter of note (bunny) that we saw while out riding on Monday met with an unfortunate end. Cablebandit expected him to zig and he zagged...or rather, he didn't move at all and we nailed him.

My Memorial Day weekend had some 'finds' in it too ... One was a driver who refused to acknowledge that they'd missed their exit at a 'Y split', so they proceeded to back up in the fast lane despite the oncoming traffic (me and a bunch of cars), then, while still looking in the rearview, they pulled left nearly missing me. Urgh! (While don't people just go to the next exit? The GPS will get 'em back on track anyway.)
The second was an older guy on a bicycle. Just as I approached him he began to dither, and just as I was passing him he turned into me. I had sped up to get by him, but he clipped the back right pannier and down he went. I stopped and he gave an I'm-okay-wave. Still, we checked in with him ... he didn't seem drunk, but that's how he was riding. Whew!
I'm glad that was the end of the holiday weirdness.
