I am picking up a DR650 from bluepoof in Cupertino and leaving Saturday morning for Castlegar. Depending on how well the new Alaska Sheepskin works ... I might make it up that far by Sunday.  Be fun to catch you guys for lunch.

Thanks Colleen !  Thumbsup

JR from Cashmere may be hooking up with us along the route too, so any details as to where/when would be helpful  Thumbsup

I'm torn on whether to go or not.

I don't like just droning down the road anymore and anything under 100mph is droning.  Damn racing!  Crazy

Maybe if I had a cushy bike like a GS I would have a different opinion.

Wouldn't that cause, like... a rip in the Space-Time Continuum if all 3 of you were actually riding... together???

That'd be cool if all of ya can make it (if Fritz doesn't bail on Saturday night  Twofinger ), I have yet to meet the rest of Bizarro's Clan.  I think I'll be scared...  Lol

Hadn't thought of the cosmic consequences, but WTF, let's take a chance!! EEK! Bigsmile

Of course, we're all three of us rather difficult to pin down for any kind of scheduled group activity, even a great ride like this one, so the universe just might be safe, after all...  Lol  Shrug rofl

I'm a definite maybe. Need to get a new battery adaptor so I can run my Gerbing on Tritium's EX.

And, er..... is it cool for me to put that many miles on your bike Tritium? I know I can ride it and all, but to work is one thing.....

Go for it, I don't mind. Smile

I think I can make the ride, too!  Bigok

It's looking good for me.  I am not On-Call for work, and that's a "Good Thing" and nothing on the books with the family unit.   Thumbsup  I will have to mention it to my Brother-in-Law so he can test out his sphincter calluses on his SV650.  He talking about going to the WCRM, so it will be either a good indicator he will go or he will say Na to Fortuna because of his "Tenderness"

Might actually make it, too.  Just put a plug in the back tire, and if it holds air, I'm good to go, unitl time to replace the buns for my first track day of the summer.   Thumbsup

By the way, when were those snow pics taken?  Crazy

Wednesday, April 18

We have made such good progress in the last week that we now plan to open the pass the first week in May.  We are ahead of schedule. We have a single lane cut through the snow across the entire pass.

We will spend the next two weeks widening the snow banks and creating two lanes for drivers.  We will also  replace sections of guardrail and concrete barrier that were removed for the winter.

I have a route figured that should put me close by Sunday ... but I think it will put me there later in the day. I need to cross the boarder on Monday to get the bike inspected ... so .. I guess I am saying I doubt I will connect for lunch. Still .. it was a fun notion built more on enthusiasm than reality.

Have a great ride ... play safe.
