So if the weather looks decent I'll be out on this.  I'll use it as a warm up for running tank to tank has hard as I can...ie endurance racing.

I'll help out by leaning on your fairings for all of Highway 2's corners, just to add to the realism.  Razz

Just saw today that the computer weather models are predicting sunshine for Sunday.  Banana  (of course that means it will probably rain) so now I'm really getting excited!  And with the WCRM only 26 days away!

Just got my new Vesrah sintered brake pads installed on the bike today, so I can now actually get'er stopped in a reasonable distance.  These old bikes need all the help they can get.  With the old brake setup, I might have been involuntarily passing everyone down the backside of Stevens pass  EEK!

I'm happy to report that the dam is still there:

I rode through the area over the weekend and the roads are in great shape Banana  (well, except for Washington Pass...  Sad )

Well, looks like I'm out for this ride. Got called in to do some fill in work on the bass this evening and I think I've found a side project so that means I'll be playing on Sundays too. This one is straight up rock and roll and it's a ton of fun. I think we'll have a big audience right out of the gates so I can't pass it up. Hell, the EX really needs a service and I don't quite have the money for that at the moment anyway. So enjoy the ride and post lots of pictures to make me jealous I couldn't make it!

Alright, playing rock live is an acceptable reason to ditch us.  Smile

Well, if there's a snowballs chance in 'h-e-double hockey sticks" of Highway 20 opening up this week, that will be a better option...  Looks like the earth is opening up and swallowing Hwy 2 at Index, and road crews are still dealing with rock slides.

I'll keep an eye on the WSDOT website, and if it looks like 20 will be open, we'll still meet in Monroe at the gas station, but then confirm with everyone to head north and catch 20 over...

EEK! and I was just there on Saturday, and almost came back that way Sunday night (but wanted to avoid the Gold Bar/Sultan/Index traffic nightmare)...

What time do you think you'll be in Leavenworth?  I'm thinking of heading over 90 and up 97 to meet you at gas stations at the junction of 97 and 2.

It's about 89 miles from Monroe to the junction which would put you there at about 8:45 if you leave Monroe @ 7 sharp and don't stop anywhere.

This would allow me to leave my house at 7am instead of 5:45. Thumbsup

from the DOT's website

Do you want an e-mail sent directly to your inbox notifying you when the pass opens? Send an email to Jeff Adamson requesting to be added to his North Cascades pass e-mail update list.

Estimated times east of the Cascades would be helpful, as I've invited another rider to meet up with us and he'll be coming from Cashmere. Bubba will also be heading north and would like to meet up with us at some point...

Edit: Files have been updated to show route including Highway 20.

Here's a HTML file from Streets and Trips with time estimates to all of the waypoints.  Plan is to be leaving Monroe at 7:30am, probably be at the 2/97 junction around 9:15-9:30 am.

Other files - MS Streets and Trips (.est), Word Doc (.doc), RTF (.rtf)

Where are you going to be play on Sunday and what time?  I have a friend who has a gig at like 11pm on that Sunday too and I believe his band is a rock band too.  It would be funny if you to play the same place.

I think I'm back on again. Lead singer for project number two neglected to mention he has out of town guests this weekend so I'm not playing on Sunday after all.  Thumbsup

"Spring Barrel Tasting Weekend"??  You get paid to do this?   Lol

Sounds like we should be planning an overnight ride with a lengthy stop in Prosser.  Be happy to chip in and help with that tiresome "barrel tasting."  I think we could pull our weight there.

Shouldn't you be tasting the contents instead of the barrel?  Headscratch
