Heading down to Arkansas last week with a couple of buddies.  Never been to the area, we're looking for good roads without the insanity of the Deals Gap area.  We're staying in Harrison.

Really looking forward to this.  Anybody have any wisdom about the area?

O goodness where to start.  Anywhere in NW Arkansas is great.  Head south on Hwy 7.  Make sure to take 123 up to Mt. Judea (pronounced Mt. Judy).  You'll be glad you did.

Look at the Google map around Harrison.  You can't go wrong.  I'm jealous.   Bigsmile

Push mountain road (Hwy 341). It runs from Hwy 201 near mountain home, ar south to hwy 14(which is also good).

Hwy 7 north or south of Harrison (beware tar snakes to the north).  Hwy 74 (runs east and west) about halfway between harrison and I-40. Hwy 21 south from Berryville. Hwy 103 from metalton to hwy 43. Hwy 16 from hwy 123 to hwy 23 (runs east and west)

When you headin to Arkansas. Mario Caruso's "Arkansas riders guide" is a good reference book for the state. Roads, food, lodging ect.

14 from Yellville to 5 (Sylamore).
341 PMR as already mentioned.
9 from Sylamore to Melbourne and back-killer road!
7 from Harrison to Jasper (good lunch spot at the Ozark Cafe) but one must be a hooligan and do multiple  passes on the DY.  Friend got cell phoned and ticketed on this road.
74 west of Jasper and back, Alpine-like section.
123 anywhere in AR! Has a northern tight section and then great sweepers going south.
23 south from Eureka Springs to Interstate-especially the pig trail.
You can make a couple of good loops out of these.

Sounds like you will have a good ride report to write later. Smile
