Had to come home and do my chores and earn enough brownie points to go riding for 2 weeks. Sigh ...
I headed back from Grand Forks and they are headed to the boonies and see how high up they will find snow.
To bad Jim it was a great day, any way here is the rest of the KKK day, well KK I guess.
A friend in Calgary purchased a new to him 950 so we decide it really needed some BC dirt , considering another thread on this forum about the Mushroom Addition we decided to go check if indeed it was closed. Our planned route would get us there in a sort of a round about way. We decided to go to Grandforks first then take logging roads east to Edgewood then north to Hwy 6 over the ferry which would drop us at the front door of the Mushroom addition .
Friday was a gloomy wet day but never the less turned out to be a very enjoyable ride. I hooked up with Ralph in Sparwood and headed west, shortly after Fernie we crossed over into the Bull river in attempt to get the new 950 dirty, the bike has some sort of puddle avoidance system on it. By the time we reached the Trench mine looked like some one took pail of mud and threw it at the bike, his still glistened in what sunlight there was. We continued on to a few miles to east of Creston then took the West Arrow Creek road to 31A and headed north to the ferry, great ride no traffic and the road was dry.
After a night at the lake and our fill of beer can chicken we awoke to a bright sunny day, we hooked up with Bubba and headed to Grandforks. Bubba left us in Grandforks to bad for Bubba we had an exceptional day. We still don't know if the Mushroom addition is open or not but we rode a little over 400km trying to find out. After a great day we headed back to the lake for a steak and a few beers. By the way the Grandforks Hotel still has the best pie in BC

enjoy the few pictures we took along with a bit of video, take note of the pavement section heading out of GF

We took a side trip off the main logging road up Burrell creek to check out the cabin that my Dad, Grandpa, brother and myself built over 30 years ago
