That's pretty - what's the elevation there?

1,489 feet according to Wikipedia Smile

A few miles to the west lies the Hardknott Pass. A few off camber hairpin turns make it a challenge on a big bike. Best suited for a motard Smile

Ok, I know they are not as spectacular, but somebody from the east coast has to chime in here.  I really like this picture for more than just the scenery.  This is my daughter and her Katana at the top of the Eastern Continental Divide in West Virgina.  She is a great riding partner and we put 3000 miles on that trip alone.

This thread is funny.  It had never occurred to me to stop and pose my bike with pass signs.  Kind of like posing with state border signs, I just don't really see the point.   Headscratch

There really is no point, it's just something silly I do. I collect pics of mountain passes with my bike, just like other people collect other pictures/things. By all means, if you do not want to take pictures of your motorcycle in front of mountain pass signs, then don't.

I'm not condemning the practice, by any means.  It had just never occurred to me to do, that's all.

Oh, I understand, I'm sure you do things that I might deem silly too. It's one of those "to each their own" thingies  Lol

My wife deems most of what I do as “silly” Lol

Top of Wolf Creek

Near the top of Trail Ridge

Not really a pass but top of Moki

This is near the top of Buffalo pass (Indian RT13); a not well known very twisty and steep stretch on the Navajo Reservation in AZ just east of Lukachukai.  Has anyone else here ridden it?; I highly recommend it.

You are rewarded with a great view of Ship Rock once in NM.

Moki dugway on a street-bike can be a bit squirrelly  Crazy

And Buffalo pass I have not ridden, looks like a cool road. Will need to find that and include it in my next AZ trip   Thumbsup BTW, is the whole road paved between there and Shiprock?

I didn't find the Moki Dugway all that bad; slow going but not bad.  It would probably be easier going up but the experience of riding of the edge of the earth from the top is unreal.

Buffalo pass is paved all the way, according to locals this was done less then 10 years ago so the pavement over the pass is good shape.  Pavement on the NM side is there but not great, lots of jolting cracks all the way across the road.  Remember this is the Res so anything and everything might be on the road.  I had goats and a big 350 Ford load with kids in the back going up the switch backs.  I did ride the good section couple of times in a row.

Nice pics - One correction - Muddy pass is on CO 14, not CO 125 Smile

And to be honest, I've never seen any mud there?
