I just moved to Hickory,NC from the Chicago area and looking to meet folks to ride with and to show me the lay of the land.

If anyone in the area is willing to show this middle aged transplant what the area has to offer let me know.

John, welcome!  Look at the ride set for tomorrow!  You are just a short jaunt to Asheville where alot are meeting up to ride down to SC to a rib joint for lunch and a meet and greet for some.

Welcome! From Hickory, point your motorcycle West. That's about it.

Seriously, you moved to a fantastic place to ride a motorcycle.

"Nothing to see here, keep moving..."   Bigsmile

As eljefe-speaks, just go west. East of you looks just like Chicago.

Welcome to the Tar Heel State!  I am a recent transplant myself.  My poor bikes are still back "home" with my wife.  They're moving down in two weeks!   Bigok

I have taken a trip west to the Diamandback loop I think it was called. Very fun, beat the hell out of the flat Illinois roads.

If you've never ridden the Blue Ridge Parkway you can't even conceive of the treat you're in for. Head North on 321, get on the BRP and take it all the way South to the end. Prepare to grin like a maniac.

Life free and ride hard because you never know when you'll be called up for that final ride. Go out doing what you love.
