I'm not much of a shock knowledgable guy, but what options do I have? Can these be rebuilt? Looking for a general direction here.... thanks

I believe they can be rebuilt, but you'd probably get better value in an aftermarket replacement shock.  www.triumphrat.net can get you to good info on what's available.

I had my 2002 shock rebuilt by RaceTech (new Gold valves for my weight, new spring).  Some of the best money I've ever spent on the Triumph, cost me just over $500 early last year, knock off about $100 if you don't need a different spring.  It's the same shock as on your 2000.  Other option is to get a Penske, but that's hundreds more and the rebuilt RaceTech part is going to perform just as well in real world usage.

And if you're going that route, may as well fix the real weak link in the Sprint suspension and get RaceTech cartridge emulators (and weight-matched springs) for the front forks.

Clyde, further on PitS's post, there is a dude on triumphrat.net that has rebuilt some of the stock shock units.  Look for username Tmod.  He is in SoCal.

Various vendors have rebuilt that generation Sprint shocks.  Ohlins used to make an off the shelf shock.  But they are hard to find these days.  Penske can build you one.  I'd recommend going through a local vendor, or reputable suspension shop(Traxxion, Lindemann Engineering, Thermosman, etc).  Hagon used to make a replacement item too.  Don't know if they still do.  Probably do because they are also based in England, as I recall.  Bigsmile
