Yes, it is.  That shot was taken last May somewhere near Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California, while I was on a bonus location reconnaissance run for Cal 24 Rallymaster Tom Melchild.

My trusty old Titanium XX will be up for sale in about another month, after I move all the LD farkles over to the 2002 XX that I am replacing it with.  Wink

They are still being made, and being sold all over the world. Except in North America. Stupid-ass Honda, abandoning a very die-hard Blackbird community here in the USA..... 2003 was the last year they were imported here. As far as I'm concerned, Honda can just go fuck themselves. When I was at the Parry Sound SBR this past summer I was astonished to see how fast Blackbirds can move.  After seeing that display of speed I understand why Honda chose the name Blackbird.  While on my Nighthawk S 750 going at a nice clip with some of our gang at the SBR, one of ours who was 2 up on his bike with givi luggage left me standing still, or rather like I was going backwards in time.  I was in awww EEK!

Thanks for the compliment CDN. The color is actually Ducati Red. I bored with a bike that matched every other XX and thought the Duc Red was just what it needed, turns out it was a good choice though I was not totally sure. The few accents set nice. The chrome Maui Built decal just looked great on it and the HMW decal was to poke fun at the Beemer crowd, it's been fun to be sure riding the XX into the BMW dealers lot, very few people recognize it as a Honda XX.

I'll post a few more pics when I get on my other puter.

No, you do not.

Something must be different on my bike because both cables are chaffing and will have to be replaced with ones that are about an inch or so longer.

The stock XX forks need major work and even then, they are merely adequate at best.

I swapped in a set of Busa forks and triple trees.  New springs and lighter oil really makes them perfect for the XX.

Also, better brakes and lighter weight are added benefits.

Great job on the creativity of the front end as the bird looks great.  Thumbsup
