Just wondering what the poll will show. I have a Slime compressor that I pack along on longer trips, but it's sort of heavy and I rarely use it on the road.

I have one that fits nicely under the seat with my plug kit.
I just put it there and forget about it.
Come to think, I should probably do an operational check on it since it hasn't been used in a couple of years.
Years ago a guy I was riding with saved my bacon with a bicycle type pump that had come standard under the seat on his BMW R90.

Yep, Slime pump & flat fix kit always under the seat. Thankfully I have not had to use it, but just in case it's there...

For the street bikes, only on trips.
For the off-road bike, all the time. Mainly because I sometimes lower pressures when on dirt and then air-up for the ride home.
I bought the cheapest, smallest compressor I could find at Walmart (about $12), took off the plastic housing and threw it away and just carry the bare compressor to save space.

I haven't in the past, but the more I think about the situations I've gotten myself into (dirt/rocky roads in the middle of nowhere desert) I feel stupid for not having had one. It's on the list. Same goes for first aid kit.

A tire repair kit and the smallest mtn bike tire pump I could find live under the SV's seat.
I have not needed either yet but they're there if I do.

I always carry my $8.00 stripped down Wally World compressor and plug kit.
Two weekends ago I had the missfortune of trying it out for the first time.
It works great if a little slow, it put 38psi in but the plug failed. I ended up putting 3 ropes in because the nail went in sideways and ripped the tire. The sad part is it was a brand new tire with only about 500 miles on it!
$231.00 later I was on my way with another new tire...
I can't compain to much though, first flat in about 5 years.

My last flat was at the indianapolis state fair grounds at the first GP. I only carried a Zefal hand pump, more that capable. Unfortunatley it was back at the tent
I now usually carry cartridges locally and a slime pump on trips.

Had a bad hole in the middle of the eastern Oregon desert that wouldn't hold a plug. The tire went down several times before I could get to civilization. Without the compressor, I'd have been well and truly screwed.
It's on the bike all the time. Of course, I also have a lot of space to carry crap like that.

I only carry a compressor when I am doing the dual sport thing, so I can air my tires up and down. Otherwise I carry a bicycle pump all the time. Especially on tour. I know the hand pump will be a pain should I need it, but I just dont have the space available for the pump.

That and my tool kit. The tool kit lives under the seat, the tire repair kit/compressor lives in the tank bag. I occasionally do short rides without tire kit, but I never ride without my tools.

I pack the worm type plugs and a "fuel" compressor i got at walmart. All those Chinese compressors use the same compressor anyway with a different body.
On my old Bandit i ripped the pump out of the plastic case and mounted it under the seat with a custom made hose that would reach both tires. It went with the bike when i sold it cause it was hard mounted.

I always have a few sticky string plugs and insertion tools under the seat with the tool kit. That's about all there is room for under there. On trips I always have my Slime pump in the hard bags. I've used it a time or two.

Garry and I went on a three-day ride in WVa and VA the past weekend, he brought his compressor so I didn't have to. Like rain gear or the spare belt for the Uly, just having it works good as insurance. If you do get a flat, with sticky string and a pump you can be back on the road in ten minutes

I just ordered a slime compressor for like $17. Man, at that price, and that small size, it's hard to justify not carrying one along.
I'll be installing a "cigarette lighter" (remember when cars used to have those?) / power plug on the bike shortly thereafter. I figure it'll come in handy for a variety of things.

I only needed it once. Its cheap insurance and it saved me that one day. Most of the roads I ride on are miles from any towns. I use a battery tender that attaches to the bike with a sae plug. I made a plug in for the compressor that plugs into that connector. Easy to use, small and cheap. Basic tools, tire plug kit and compressor on every ride.

Slime pumps fits well under my seat so it's always there. Used to carry a mini foot-pump, which is great for topping off but I inflated a flat with it one time and it took forever and I walked funny for a week afterwards.

I carry a plug kit with co2 canisters.
I use Motul flat kit also. I've had one flat in 10 years. Touch wood.

Guys,
I carry the slime pump with the plug kit and co2 cartridges. The ST1300 has plenty of space for this gear....Nothing worse trhan being on a Sunday breakfast ride about 100 miles from home and finding a nail or screw in a tire. I found in my tool kit a old plug kit it has auto style plugs larger than the stop n go ones may have to add that tool to my kit....keep on riding....

I carry a compressor along with tire repair tools all the time. Never had the misfortune of having to use them yet (knock on wood). But they key word is "yet".

Ok, used the compressor for the second time. I'll still go with cheap insurance. The neat thing this time, I was at gas station with lots of traffic. As I'm filling the bike, I notice the rear tire is low. I finish filling the bike and pull into a parking place. On my Concours, it is a lot of work to put her on the center stand with a full rear tire. With a low rear tire its impossible. I move the bike a little to get to the valve stem and hook up the compressor. As I'm filling the tire, I notice a few people watching. As the tire is filling, I get the Stop and Go kit out and ready. Once the tire has its normal shape back I get the old girl on the center stand. I find the nail that caused the problem and use the kit to "patch" the hole. I then hook the compressor up and fill the tire. While the tire is filling I start putting things away. Thats when a guy walks over and says, "You made that look easy." I'll be honest, everytime I change tires I practice. Before I pull the wheel off the bke, I drill a hole in it. I then go thru the above mentioned process under controlled conditions. It sure makes you look good to a bystander when you have to fix it for real.
