BBG1500 + SS2000?

I was going to post this over on the IB forum, but registrations are closed at the moment. I know there are some iron butt regulars here, so..
Do you know if you can do a BBG1500, then add another 500 to get the SS2k? My plan is when I finish my bbg1500 (which loops and takes me home), to crash for a few hours, then ride another 500 miles to get the ss2k. Is this kosher?

Thanks
I was reading your report as well, were you successful in yours or not? Interesting report doing it on a 250 cc bike, and the troubles you faced. Kudos to you even if you did not make it.

It's possible but often considered certificate whoring under some situations. Going for a BBG and claiming a SS1K would be such a case (since a SS1K would have to be done to get the BBG). Since the 2nd concurrent 1K day wouldn't be an inclusive ride, then you should be okay.

Yeah, I know what you mean, claiming a SS1k if you did a BBG1500 is whoring, because by doing a BBG1500, it's assumed you had to do a SS1k. However it is not assumed that you did a BBG1500 if you did SS2k, or vice versa. That's the way I understand. For example, if I did a SS2k, I would not apply for a SS1k or BBG, as both are implied by the SS2k. I think I just said what you did in more words though lol.

One ride, one certificate.
At the end of the day (god I hate that saying), all that matters is that your new plate back will be better than the one you currently have.
I think it's cool that the IBA will allow you to collect a consolation prize for a failed ride attempt. Of course they have no way of verifying that you failed an attempted ride, only that you were successful at the lesser ride.

Maybe I should see a psychiatrist so he/she can help me identify what it is I'm running from. That way I'll know exactly how far I need to ride and be done with it!
