Anyone knows how these BikesafeNC courses are in comparison to the MSF courses?

I did the class a couple years ago.

MSF is basic riding skills needed to pass the MC exam from the DMV.  I've not taken the advanced class, but I presume it covers a few of the more advanced skills you might need.

The BikeSafeNC course got mixed reviews from my class.  Admittedly, many in our group had track experience/training, so nothing they told us was a remarkable improvement on what we already knew, but if you had had nothing but MSF, it taught you some important things they learned about cornering and riding safe.

You get some time riding with a state trooper following you.  Then later they do it again and score you on your improvement.  Our group started with high scores, so not as much improvement was noted, and we were disappointed that we didn't do the road work on their road course.  It was an insurance issue, but we felt it would be better to practice skills on a closed course where road hazards could deliberately be simulated rather than on the open road where you got whatever happened.

I'm not sure what the cost is for the class (if there is one), but it's worth the afternoon if you get the chance.  You don't know how much or little you'll pick up from the experience.

Zaphod did not want to tangle with them and, deciding that just as discretion was the better part of valor, so was cowardice the better part of discretion, he valiantly hid himself in a closet.

Let us know what you think about the ARC.

(I may teach it in the future.)
