Riders attracted to its looks will be pleasantly shocked by its handling prowess. We reckon more than one squid will soon find himself humbled by the grey-haired fellow that just blitzed by on a quirky green motorsickle.

If you test ride one, you won't be able to resist.

My wife just got her Griso SE two weeks ago. The thing is spectacular. Even thought it has the same basic engine as my Stelvio, the power delivery seems more linear to me. Just a steady rush from bottom to top. The handling is just fantastic as well.

Every time the bike is parked, there are people standing around it when we come out. I've yet to hear anyone say they didn't love the look of it.

The Griso is utterly lovely.

For those in the know, 2 valve or 4 valve heads?

Different strokes.  The 8V's I've ridden do the classic trade, losing some low end torque for high end HP compared to the 4vs.  Both are fun, both are elastic, but I personally preferred the 4v strictly because it was better in stop-start riding around town, which was where I figured I'd be riding my potential Goose most/lot of the time.

Ended up on a Tuono, which is somewhat ironic because it's not a particularly urban-friendly bike, engine-wise.  But that's OK, I just get out of town as fast as possible.  Smile

That's the same money as many other nekkid bikes from Harley, Victory, Triumph, Honda, Kawi, Yam, Suzuki.
Yep, all those are cruisers (bog bore ones from the Japanese) but the point being, same money.

And the Guzzi is a much better motorcycle than all of them.

I rode them back-to-back a couple of years ago, and it was interesting to compare them directly.

I think that the Griso 8V is one of the best bikes on the market, but at the time it was difficult to justify the price tag when compared with the 4V Grisos that were also available at the time.  But now you can buy a 2010 Griso 8V from Moto International for $10K, so no one within 400 miles of Seattle, Washington has a good excuse.   Bigsmile

Very beautiful motorcycle - heads above the competition in look and design.   :leghump: Inlove

But at 555lb and shaft-driven, can it really be called it a "gentleman's sportbike" next to bikes such as the Tuono? Shrug

Yes, because there's nothing "gentle" at all about a Tuono.  Smile

My favorite Tuono quote:

"The Tuono is a wonderful blend of crazy and crafty…It's like dating a porn queen, except when you take her home she puts her hair up in a bun, dons her glasses and does your tax returns for you." –Gabe Ets-Hokin

And my favorite is from here:

Quote
"...It doesn’t want to gently take your hand and guide you on a trip, it wants to rip it off and run away with it! I always get the feeling that to ride a Tuono you have to be a real man, prepared to fight it every step of the way, where as on the Triumph you can have an off day and not be left feeling inadequate."

Aprilia didn't come out with the Tuono until after the merger with Moto Guzzi.

Things that make you go, "hmmm"
