I was planning on going for a ride this Saturday and thought I'd see if anyone was interested in joining. I live south of Atlanta so my plan was to ride through the N Ga. Mountains to Tellico Plains, TN., take the Cheraholah over to Deals Gap, ride back down to the Ga. Mountains and then end the ride in Helen, Ga. before heading back to Atlanta. It's a long ride but I haven't ridden for over a month so I'm up for it. For anyone coming from the Atlanta area, I thought we would meet at the Shell station at the top of GA. 400 at about 8 or 8:30am. If anyone else is joining farther north, we could also arrange another place and time to meet.

That's a normal ride for us. Towards the end of the month and beginning of August I'm game.  This weekend is Barber with X-Act.

Hey RBE, the eFn wife and I would love to join you. Do you mind meeting at Rider's Hill instead? They are great people with great coffee and some kick ass bikes to drool over.

Sure, we can meet at Riders Hill but I've been checking the weather and it doesn't look like it's going cooperate right now and may have to cancel this ride. Sucks because I really want to get out and ride this weekend. I'll check the weather forecast again this afternoon and let you guys know if I'm in or not.

I just checked the weather for Blairsville and here's the Saturday forecast:

Sun and clouds mixed with a slight chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon. High 88F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 30%.

To be honest, that's just the Default Georgia Summertime Weather Forecast. Sounds like maybe a chance of a quick little summer later afternoon storm. Not a big deal, imo.

Hey Bobby, sorry for losing you on 60 on the way home. I got around those cars and just kept on it, since I didn't want to miss my buddy's post-Iron Butt party that evening.

Didn't mean to ditch you.

no problem Joel, I didn't want to become a Redneck meat wagon sandwich. I was afraid to get in between the 2 big ass pick ups, they didn't seem to thrilled with your being there and then I missed the light. See ya next time!

Oh I know. They were probably pissed. Oh well. I got the hell ahead of the first truck and didn't want to wait for 'em to catch back up with me. Sorry man.

Further south on 60, in the really really twisty section north of Suches I was stuck FOREVER behind some guy in Kia or whatever. So I finally got a chance to pull off a pass, pull out, and as soon as I do a big dualie pickup comes around the bend. No big deal, I get on the breaks to merge back into my own lane. Well what does Mr. Kia do? He panics and slams on his own brakes right next to me.   I gassed it and got ahead of him in time but yeesh.

Be careful out there, kids.  Thumbsup
