I was needing to take my R1200C in to the shop to find the cause and clear and ABS fault. I made an appointment with BMW of Santa Fe, NM for Friday July 1st and while I was at it, I asked for a test ride on the K1600GTL. Well, I arrived on time around noon-ish on the 1st and they took the bike right in. Meanwhile the GTL was on it's way from Albuquerque; so the wife and I decided to go to the motel and check in. When I got back, they said my cruiser had been checked out and that it had a bad ABS pump. That's not praticualrly good news as those boogers cost about $2K new. Fortunately, I happen to have one left from the '98 RT that I parted out that is still good and the wrench at the shop said it would be a direct swap and should reset the ABS without further attention from them. He also told the service manager to zero the labor on the diagnostic as it only took him about 5 minutes to hook up and find the problem. That's good customer service and deserving of a notice here.
KUDOS TO BMW of Santa Fe.
