It's fast, light, and has a great motor.
But it is in a totally different segment in the market as your XX. It's more like a raw, hooligan type bike. I think you will love riding it at first. Then you will hate it if you try to do the same rides that your XX was great at doing.

I am not doing those rides anymore....I think I will like it if we do the trade.

Lots of decent stuff right here in our very own Suzuki section...it was about the S model, but besides handle bars there isn't much of a difference.

I like mine.
It's super narrow so it's a LOT of fun in city traffic. It's very reliable and just a tough bike that can take a lot of abuse. It;s definitely capable of plenty of day-rides and some short touring. I use soft luggage and a tank bag and can carry plenty for me.
For me, the ergos are about perfect. My elbows are bent slightly so I'm not straight upright. The ergos are a bit more upright than the Blackbird, but the chassis is much more narrow so it's very comfortable.
As for the motor: It's got way, way less up top than the Blackbird, but on a twisty road, at 8k rpms, that twin is pretty wild. I've never thought I really needed more power. I find it a very easy bike to ride fast.

I rode one a few times. Great bike, I would love to have a SV1000 naked.
Great engine, fun all over the rev range although not a shit ton of HP like your XX. The one I rode had dual Yoshis on it and sounded great.

I had an'06 SV1kS and put 43k miles on it including a 5600 mile 12 day trip through 16 states before I sold it to my son who loves the bike.
I put a PCIII and M4 exhaust and had a professional dyno tune. It put out 115 rwhp and 75 lb ft of torque and in the twisties it was a blast coming out of the curve. I also put a GSXR750 front end and an Ohlin rear shock.
You will probably need to do something with the horrendous seat if it is the original. Major ass burn after 80 miles, I got a Rick Mayer and it wasn't much better.
If you are ready for something to run the twisties, the SV is a great choice

Love my 2006 SV1000S (half-faired.) I also find the seat agonizing but the rest of the bike is really fun. Torque galorque. $0.02

OMG! Don't even think about it. You'll regret it for sure. Remember, it's a Honda with a bullet proof engine that's user friendly with tons of options to upgrade and keep her running. Yes, I own an '02 Bird with +167,000 kms.
