Norge Pronounciation

Since it's Italian, I presume it's "Nor-jay", not Norj?

Just wondering.

Hadn't thought the hard "g".  That's how the Italians would pronounce it.

Here in Italy usually who reads the name on the bike use  "Jeh" spelling, but in reality MG meant the Norwegian way, so who knows better spell it "Nor-geh" with the hard "g" and the "e" as in "fathEr".

Turning it over, I think this means "Nor-guh": "Nor" with the "or" like "Horse" and "Guh" with the "e" sounding like the "u" in "Guss"?

Or, in British English, would it be more like "Nor-grrr"?

I'm guessing he means Nor as in Norway but, you trill the rrrrr, followed by ge as in get without the T.

I've owned a Norge for nearly a year now. On several occasions I've used the Americanized pronunciation in conversations with Guzzi enthusiasts and was gently corrected by them. However, in each case, the "correct" pronunciation given to me was different. I find it very amusing  ; as if it matters.

I have given my Norge a knickname---"the Fridge". To be consistent with this name, I will continue to refer to it as a "norj". Shoot me if you don't like it  .

As I understand it, the Norweigian pronunciation is "Nor-guh", and in Italian it is Nor (with the trilled "r") Jay.

The final word comes from Bike magazine this month, in its review of the new Norge. It is Norr gay, so named in honour of a 1928 ride to Norway
