Different ability to get heat into the tires... I gotta wonder how well Suzuki would be doing if they could have a tire designed for their bike, as opposed to trying to tweak a design that's not compatible with the spec tire.

It would not matter , it is Suzuki , self explanatory if you ax  me .

Yamaha or Honda or you are not going anywhere , just ask Rossi .

OK - when was the last MotoGP race where the last lap was the most exciting?

Good race all around - really excellent to see Alvaro battling with Nicky and Vale the whole race.  As has already been said, great to see Spies pip Simo right at the end.  That was truly excellent.  But huge props to the Pedrobot for the win - amazing considering the little sucker was so badly injured just a couple months ago.  Yay for Nicky taking top Ducati.

Despite the wonderfully exciting MotoGP race...  nothing can top the 125cc this day.  When was the last time there was a TIE FOR THE WIN?  Zarco and Faubel crossed the line at exactly the same time, and race direction gave it to Faubel based on his having a faster lap in the race than Zarco.  The commentators had to look it up, they had never seen it before.  Vinales went from Pole to 11th in the first two corners, then ended up leading the race for a while until the last lap when Faubel exploded past him, taking Zarco with him.  Truly on the edge of my seat for nearly the entire race.  



Moto2... Hell, I don't remember if I watched the whole thing.  It was a little tame, so much that both my infant son and I got bored of staring at the screen and we went and played with blocks I think.  Should probably go back and finish it.

Alright, just finished the Moto2.  Actually, not a bad race.  No last lap fireworks - Bradl knew he'd been beat by then, conceded the top step to Marquez and just had to hold off DeAngerous (who's been looking pretty OK lately) to keep 2nd.  Marquez, with this victory, has now broken yet another Dani Pedrosa record - youngest rider to take that many GP wins.  3rd in a row.  Now Bradl and Marquez have 4 victories each, but with Marquez's inability to finish a race earlier in the season, Bradl still maintains a 40-something point lead.  If this keeps up, Marquez is going to pass him up before too long.  

Apparently there's no limit on testing for Moto2 bikes this year, and Repsol has been pouring money into Marquez's garage (surprise, Spanish company financing new Spanish superstar) in order to enable a fuckload of testing on Marquez's part.  Bradl's sponsors can't keep up, and he's paying the price.

Next year, because of Marquez, they're going to limit testing in Moto2.  By that time Marquez will be sitting on a a MotoGP bike, more than likely.

Spec tire rule blows . The idea that one size fits all in MotoGP is fundamentally retarded if we consider it is a prototype racing class  . There are different riding styles , different engine configurations , etc .  

Hopefully world`s economy  will improve soon and they get away with that unfortunately necessary evil .    

Spec tire rule is awesome and has made MotoGP, WSBK and AMA racing much better.
The MFG's design their bike to work with the tires.  It really doesn't matter if they are designing the bike to work with a one off tire or production tire.  It is the riders job to read the tire and adjust riding style accordingly.
