1st things first.
Just kidding. You know I love you all. Even you Clay.
Mr. Black can go straight to hell though.
Feeling my oats last night fighting truckers on I81.
1st time since I've had the bike I broke the ton. (I usually don't ass around like this.)
On the commute in today, Connie has 30K on the clock. 29K of which is mine since July '08.

What's the plate on the top case for? Just extra strap-down area, or do you add satellite antenna, etc., there?
Oh that's where I curl up and bask in the sunshine.
Just an accessory platform for my topcase. I strap a sleeping bag up there. Or a 12 pak.

Been close a few times, but never over. Shes' a good bike, but the suspension is a little long in the tooth for those kind of activities.
I'm actually going to be afraid to upgrade to something more technically modern in the future. I'll probably get in trouble.

No crap, I didn't make it 2000 miles on my current machien before I broke the ton...and it probably takes more work to do it on my steed.

I understand the first photo. If I had an average speed of 18 mph against a moving average of 31 and a top speed of 102, I'd be pissed off at the traffic, too.

Yesterday after work I chased down a Dodge Viper that was hauling ass. Just as I thought we were good to go the guy peels off and hits the on ramp to the LIE.
I glance down at the guages and see 24,500 miles on the odo and 121mph on the speedo.
Yes, I am so freaking cool, just like Connie.

I had mine over 100 many times but it was always a conscious thing. My ST1300 on the other hand, you occasionally look down and go WHOA I need to back up off this pig. Busting a 100 comes all to easy when you cant hear or feel the engine.

The frame oscillations make it more like controlled chaos than actual riding, when wicking it up.
I take it you guys never rode old Kawasaki's. The C-10 was a model of stability compared to an original H1 or H2.

I've taken the FJR over 100 a few times, but with all that mass going by I was afraid of sucking some poor Prius into my slipstream.

Okay, joking aside, is the C-10 really that difficult to push past 100? If so, I'm surprised.

No it's not. It's just the suspension is a bit mushy for the weight of the bike and the front forks are definitly too flexy. There was a lot of throttle left.
If I were to guess top speed is probably around 130 but I wouldn't want to test that out. I didn't even look at the tach to see what the RPM's were, (prolly 6-7K in 6th gear??)
the cars were coming up in front too quickly..

That's a pretty damn good guess. Though perhaps a bit closer to 120 actual. I ran mine up once until it started to feel like she might come unglued and as I recall the speedo was reading right about 130. Closed course test track of course.

When mine was new I only hit 90-95 before I was scared enough to back it down. Mine would feel like you were in trucker wake once you hit somewhere between 85 and 90 even though no one was in front of you. It was what they call the Connie Dance. that big fairing just didn't slice through the wind like the newer stuff. I only had 4500 miles on my 2006 before I sold it in 2008. It was worse when you actually had trucker wake. I didn't want to have to buy a brand new bike and then replace the suspension just to get it meh.
