Kawasaki 1973 H2 750cc Triple, DENCO 90hp Pkg - $14995

Hello Triple Fans,
I have decided it's time to start some new projects, and they need financing.

I am now offering the 1973 Kawasaki H2 750, 2 Stroke Triple you see, that has
been a personal project, and rolling business card, for about 16 years.

Since it's last show, in 2006, at the San Diego Auto Museum's
"Motorcycle's In The Park" Annual, Invitational (see photos), it has
been retired & covered, in a cool, dry storage container. Battery was
removed, carbs were drained and there is no fuel in the Air Tech H2R
Replica Fiberglass Fuel Tank.

If you want a Very Exclusive Hot Rod of the Past, built intentionally as an "Upgraded", yet Old School (Meaning; Twin Shocks and Conventional Forks), Roadracing Motorcycle, here is a unique, and properly setup example, of the World's First 750cc Superbike.
This is a competent high speed road bike, upgraded in so many ways. It's completely stable at the 135-140MPH speeds this unfaired bike
will run. Regeared, this DENCO 90HP "Viper" Spec engine package is capable of low 11 second 1/4 mile
times, with this set-up (TZ Style, recut Cylinder Heads, Mild Porting and Stinger Expansion Chambers), on race gas. I've left stock 30mm carbs on it, so it will get reasonable gas mileage (32-35mpg) when cruising. I will throw in a set of 34mm Round Slide Mikuni carbs, for those who want even more HP!!

This 750cc H2 has Trophied at the Del Mar Concours D'elegance, in the "Street Specials" Class.
My bike has been invited to be shown for several years at the annual San Diego Auto Museum's "Motorcycle's In The Park" Show.
It was Invited to, and shown at, the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in LA, sponsored by Cycle World Magazine.
In 2006, it was shown at the Coronado Island Naval Base's "SRT Speed Challenge" Vintage Car & Motorcycle Show & Races, Invited by the San Diego Antique Motorcycle Club.

I rode it a lot, in it's 3 previous incarnations, before it went to the current Cafe Racer Style.

The engine is bored 2nd over, with a mild Port & Polish job to compliment the chambers, but it is not so radical that it can't be street ridden. The transmission was inspected and reshimmed. It has a Barnett Clutch and Spring Kit.
The Engine Cases, Cylinders and heads were Glass Bead Blasted. The engine Covers, Lower Fork Sliders, Upper and Lower triple Clamps, were all porfessionally Polished.
There are a lot of new rubber bits on the chassis. The Chassis Hardware was Cadium Plated. The Engine Hardware was rezinc plated.
The Expansion Chambers and Velicity Stacks were recently Ceramic Coated the "new Titanium" color.

This machine has period correct, German "RAASK" Rear Sets installed. The stock foot
controls will still bolt back on if desired. It has Twin Gas Shocks (Custom Sprung & Valved Works Performance).

The Front Forks have been converted to those from a Yamaha FJ1200. It has 43mm (instead of 36mm) fork tubes, Anti Dive System (good to keep that center chamber off the road through our So. Cal. rain dips), Alloy Upper and Lower Clamps, Adjustable Damping & Preload. The H2 Steering Stem, was machined and pressed into the FJ lower fork clamp, so I could use the Tapered Steering Bearing Kit for the H Series triples.
The FJ's Clip-On Style Handlebars, have been modified for a wider angle and are sport touring comfortable.

The Wheels are EPM (Brand) 18" Magnesium Roadrace wheels for a TZ750 (2.5"x18" Fr & 3.5x18" Rr). All of the Axles, Spacers, and Swing Arm Pivot Bolt, were fabricated to adapt all of the upgrade pieces to this machine.
The Rear Aluminum Sprocket was custom made to bolt onto the TZ750/750 Wheels, but have the proper tooth count for this modified H2.

The Twin Front Brembo 4 Piston Calipers are mounted with Custom Brackets.

The Black Powdercoated, Alloy Swing Arm is from a Kawasaki GPz750 Turbo. It has Eccentric Axle Holders that adjust chain tension, wheel base and ride height. It was narrowed (and the frame was milled for a larger dia. swing arm pivot bolt) to fit the H2 chassis. The Swing Arm's Needle Bearings were retained. It has 3 mount bolt holes in the lower shock mount brackets, to allow ride height changes and different shock lengths.

This bike has a rear GPz550 Disc Brake Caliper with custom bracket, plus a Drilled Yamaha TZ250 Cast Iron Rr Rotor. The Rr GPz550 Master Cyl needs to be mounted. I'm a BK R Leg amputee, so I never use the rear brake, and finishing it just never was a priority. YOU might want it to be. ;-)

All of the (Dupont "Hot Hues" Urathane ) Painted "Burnt Orange Pearl" Cafe Racer Bodywork (with Custom 73 H2 Graphics), has Aerospace Engineered Brackets & 1/4 turn Dzus Fasteners, which can be removed, and stock bodywork (Tank, Seat, Tail Section) bolted back on. The Tank is an Air Tech H2R Replica, and the Custom Upholstered Solo Seat is from a 70's fiberglass bodywork fabricator (like Air Tech) named Camber Company.
Nothing has been molested on the frame brackets, so that the stock look could be restored again. The Modified Stock Chassis, and Modified Engine are Custom Built by Boots Triples, La Mesa, Ca., unless otherwise noted.

I consider this to be a $25K Custom Built, Roadracing Class, H2 750 Motorcycle, that I'm willing to deal on.
Please be realistic in your offer.
I'll be glad to offer Tech Support after the sale.
If you would like more info on this H2, please go to my web site; bootstriples dot com, where I give a pretty detailed description of this bike, and you'll learn about me and my Kawasaki Triple riding/racing/restoring past.
NOTE: I will only respond to emails AFTER we have spoken on the phone. I have many photos of my H2 as it was developed from stock, to modified stock, to now , the "Cafe Racer" style.
I'd sure like someone to buy it, and ride the crap out of it, as I had hoped I'd do more of.
Please call 619-466-7298 (3-8PM is best to catch me home. Don't Give up. Leave a SLOW, return number message. I'm Here. I just work graveyard shift) .
I also have a nice, lightly modified 1970 MACH III 500 Triple For Sale, in a different craigslist ad.
Talk to you soon.
Cheers

AND, if the buyer prefers, he'll change the oil before you take delivery, and put fresh air in the tires for a total price of $15,995.

Nice bike, but I think he's going to be keeping it for awhile longer, and hitting the "relist" button on CL.

It only took 40 years, but someone finally managed to build one that was completely stable. Or not.  Lol

I'd love to have it if the price was a lot lower. But it's a lot of $$ for novelty.

The price is not crazy.  have you seen some of the triples sell for big bucks.  Try to buy a 73 or 74 Z1 and see what the kawasakis are getting.  This is a nice bike and worth every penny.  I wish I were in the getting another bike mode.

Ridding the triples was an experience you can't explain to other riders.  I miss my 74 500.  It was fast n it's day and it was putting out a whopping 66 HP the way I hd it set up.

I bought a '73 Z1 in 1974 and lots of friends owned H1's and H2's so I rode them plenty. Being young and immortal I wasn't the least afraid of a few wobbles.  Bigok

It's true, all those bikes have really spiked up in price.  But after a ride or two I'd probably be bored and want to go riding on something more modern and a lot more trustworthy.

Yeah that would be my problem. I worked for Kawasaki back in the day. I have enough time on the 500 and the 750 to know its cool but it would wear off fast. Meh...........  I would rather have an original Eddie Lawson replica that was tricked out with a 1200cc big bore kit and upgraded suspension, brakes and 17 inch wheels.

They made that bike for you already.  A ZRX1200. Wink

I also had an '81 GPz 1100 that I bought new and absolutely loved.  For it's day is was as good as it got IMO. A lot of times I wish I'd have kept it. But I realize that the memory is probably better than the bike was objectively. In reality my current bike would leave it for dead.

I had wobbles on mine until I put a good tire on it, some decent Konis and Bill Wirges expansion chambers and swingarm bushings.  I didn't know anyone who could follow me after that.  I thought it handled pretty well after that was done.  I paid 1400.00 out the door a new Z1 was only 1999.00
