If I ever get my Norge road legal in Germany (10 months and counting) it's just a hop-skip and a jump to Como for me (coming from Frankfurt).

Disturbingly close to OktoberFest also though :/

Looks like fun though, I'd love to make it Smile

What's the problem with getting it road-legal, is it an import? Headscratch

Yeah, I'm British but spent a few years in Canada, picked up the Norge there and did some nice ridin'. For sentimental reasons I guess I brought it back to Euroland with me but expected to be in the UK. Ended up in Germany and the red tape here is compounded by the fact I don't speak German. Currently I'm waiting on the technical data sheet from Moto Guzzi so I can then take it to the TUV so the Germans can tell me if the bike I've riden for 2 years and >20k kms is safe for me to ride.

Been waiting 5 months for the data sheet so far. Call them every week. I'm way beyond angry at this point.

Reminds me of when I tried to import my Ducati ST2 into Canada. I had bought it in the UK and used it there for a few years, then took it to California on a temporary import certificate. Then I was offered a job in Canada but when I got to the border they said that because I was not bringing it in as a tourist I had the choice of either shipping it back to the UK or having it put in the crusher. EEK!  No amount of persuasion or argument would work, it didn't have the appropriate stickers to prove Canadian compliance and that was it!  Angry3

I finally won my battle with Sie Germans and I have my registration and plate in hand. Only 10 months and 600 Euros.

But it means I'm road legal for the birthday party, so, work permitting, I might be able to make it after all Smile

Once again I envy you, Orson!

Here's a news blurb on the new engine.  They also announced they would be building a new factory in Mandelo.

"The big news is that Guzzi will be building a new factory on the historic Mandello site, and are designing a new liquid-cooled engine for future models. Roberto Colaninno said the factory would be built over the next three years, and that the old one will be kept as a tourist attraction."
