Dave, did you see Warchild's recent trip report on his Busa?   Crazy  Makes Justin look downright sane.   Lol

Hey now, I did 1550 miles in 23 hours on the Busa ... but alas, I still look sane next to Warchild. I believe there is a post on the Hayabusa forums where he did over 1800 miles in 23.5 hours on the Busa  Crazy - not to mention hell week on the XX  Crazy Crazy

Well, I just got Lee's Cycle in San Diego to install the LSL Spiegler handlebar conversion kit on my 2002 gsxr 1000.The first impression on riding position was the similarity to the Hypermotard I test rode a while back..just not as high off the ground. The shop charged $335 to install and parts were a little over $400. They were not too cheap but I think they are the best in San Diego. My first ride was out to Ramona, where a Honda VFR rider and a Kawasaki Versys sp? immediately came over  and declared themselves sold! The handlebars are wide and almost look like flat track or stunt bars. Reaching out , they are right where you want them to be.. It's almost as though they fall into your hands. This bike's seating position with the original clipons was the most contortionist of any of the bikes in it's class in 2002 and basically matched the most torturous of any of today's bikes, including the Italians. When I complain about the cost to my neighbor, he says " yeah, but now you can ride it"..  Sorry about no pictures.. Maybe I can swing some in a little while. There is a photo on the Spengler website. I just put Michelin Pilot Road 2's on and now it feels secure and predictable. When I got it, it had mismatched tires with a Michelin Race h2 front. That front tire caused me to almost lose my front end twice before I found out it was the cause of my troubles. Scared the hell out of me! Now I'm off to find the best earplugs and someone to rework my seat here in San Diego. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thankyou to everybody!

Glad it worked out for you.
I'd suggest lowering the pegs too.
Buell pegs, lowering brackets, whatever...it'll ease up pressure on the knees and hips and the bike will still have plenty of  ground clearance...Hank

Yeah, lowered pegs are arriving from Twisted Throttle next Monday. Veefer800canuck, I don't know how to post pics (which I haven't taken yet).. I will poke around this site to see if there are any tips on how to do so tonight. Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
