Hmmm.....maybe. Especially after I thought I was finally going to make the one in Eureka, only to find out my daughter wanted to schedule her 15th birthday party that weekend. I'm not an Iron Butt guy though....might need more than 3 days to do the 1,300+ miles. Sure would like to go though...

Part of the problem is that I have a loose SI joint that displaces and causes a lot of nerve pain on a semi-regular basis.

I was thinking either MOOSE JAW, SK,  or  Minot, ND.

If you show up with rounded tires instead of flat, we'll know you trailered.

That's why I've dubbed myself "bike swapper extraordinaire". But 3 bikes in 11 months is a bit much even for me.   Crazy Lol

I'm beginning to think my goal as a rider is just to try and sample a bit of everything that's on offer out there. I've had the Big 4 experience, the Harley experience, the scooter experience, sport-touring, crusiers, now I get to try the German, dual sport thing. Looking forward to it.

Oh, and the bike I'm buying is in Redding, so I'll be up your way this weekend.  Thumbsup Nothing like boiling on I-5 for 160 miles on the inaugural ride home.  Crazy

 Lol

What can I say? I like to sample the menu at the bike buffet.  Cool

With the comments in two different forums about the original pic I posted from the PO of the bike in front of the fire hydrant, I'm thinking about parking it in front of every hydrant I can find for awhile and posting only those pics. Maybe I can make someone's head explode and become to fire hydrants what Clay is to cats.  Crazy Bigsmile

That's next on the list.  Bigsmile

I've gone the Corbin and Sargent route (Sargent twice). Ironically, the Sargent seat was probably the single best improvement of anything I tried. At least it got me from 75-100 miles before agony, to about 250-300 before I'm forced to call it a day. That's better, but I'd like to be able to do that mileage and not be in screaming pain by the end of the day, or have the ability to push to 400-500 miles a day before hitting my limit.

I can't get the extra time off I need to make this trip, so it looks like I'm going to attend the F650 Chain Gang's event near Mt. Lassen on the same weekend instead, since it's quite a bit closer to home. Sorry guys.  Sad

Maybe we could have next years WCRM at the Purple Cow vineyards. I hear they have some good wine.

Well, I'm planning a ride down that way anyway, so I'd be interested in meeting the group--for Friday dinner, if nothing else.  I have a friend who's keen to make the trip, but he definitely doesn't want to ride with a group, and I think we'll want 2 days each way, so we'd probably have to be heading home on Saturday.

(In truth, he'd rather go down a bit earlier, perhaps the weekend before...I'll post here what we decide).

So, whassup at the moment?  Anyone gonna be in Baker City on the evening of the 9th?

I'm planning to arrive there that night (Friday), then leave again on Saturday morning.  Just found out the Reverend Horton Heat is playing Spokane on Saturday night, and I might try to make the show (my wife is talking about heading down to Spokane as well--that's how I heard about it).

So, anyone else gonna be there Friday night?

After you ride through Rattlesnake Pass, I hope you're leaving yourselves enough time to arrive at Baker City via the Wallowa Mountain Loop Road (rather than through La Grande & on the Interstate).

We rode the ~120km from Enterprise to where the aforementioned road (also forest road #39) intersects with highway 86 in about two hours today (this includes a brief stop at the Hells' Canyon Overlook - a highly recommended short detour).  You're familiar with my riding, so adjust your time down accordingly Wink  This is a narrow road on which it is important to be highly cognizant of oncoming traffic, blind corners, potholes, and cows!  It is very worth taking the time to ride it!!!

Zed's been thinking of Reverend Horton Heat's "Eat Steak" all week... whilst dodging cows.

I'll be there by fri at 4pm.  Anybody from Boise going to make it?  Will have a double bed room for anyone wanting to split the expenses.  Reservation made at Oregon Trail Motel.  Load up and hit the road fellow ST-ners weather will be the best along with the riding.

Ah...I need to find out what the race schedules are which won't happen until the end of this year or so.  Start a thread and I'll post up when I figure it out.  It'd be fun though...great choice of location and the time of year is a little early but whatever.
