Is a complete pile of shite. I know, I have had this pile of steaming dog poo on hire-after the Tbird got run over-for two weeks.

It's on Dunlop sport tyres, but hack into a corner and the handling is vile. Less vile than a 70s or 80s Japanese bike but rubbish for a modern bike. And the mpg is crap-30, tops. And what is the fecking point of a naked bike that does 170mph (I've only had it up to 130)? And the finish is shite-6 months old and it is corroding everywhere.

And the bill for the trashed Triumph is over £1600.

Cookie, I hope the faired version is better.

Also, I don't think a box stock Bandit will do much over 150, so that should save you some windblast.

The riding position only majes sense above 70mph. I have never ridden a bike where the palms of my hands hurt after a mere 5 miles...

WRONG. Steered like a wheelbarrow full of wet cement. Checked the tyres, found about 15 PSI in each.

Aired them up to Mfgr's specs, hey, whaddya know! Nimble little bike appeared, YAY!


If it's a rental bike, maybe nobody has bothered to check the air?

Obviously you had low tire pressure or just a thrashed rental bike issue because of all the reviews Ive read about the 1250 both the bandit and the GSX version there has been nothing but praise for this bike....and yes I own one but would also be the first to agree if it was a POS and wouldn't still have mine after 35k miles. I have owned many bikes from many MFG's and this is one of my favorites regardless of price and with mine setup like the GT version sold in other countrys I like it better overall than my Sprint ST or FJR.

I don't think it was the fact that it was a courtesy bike. I think it was me. My triumph is considerably less powerful (yes, the big Suzy did put a grin on my face several times) but is a higher quality and better handling piece of kit. The Bandito was staring to rot in places and had less than 7K on it-and was new 10 months ago. Just my prejudice really. And an attempt to wind up Mr Black.

Would I buy one? Definitely not. Would I recommend one as a cheap but powerful bike? Yes.
