Rode through there last week on my 1150GSA sidecar rig. Kept the speedo pegged at right about 60 and blew past every cage I saw plus a couple of street bikes going 30.   Twofinger  What fun!  That gravel they use on the chipseal made for a perfect surface for me.

Thanks for that, know what I won't be doing this weekend, or by the looks of it, the rest of the weekends this summer.  Sad

Oddly, for work they said they began on June 8th, I didn't see any signs of it on the 10th or the 18th, as I went to and from the National.

The only evidence I saw of construction on SR 20 was between Republic and Kettle Falls  on the 27th of June.

If they have dumped chipseal, and not yet fionished the surface I won't bother riding that route again this year.

Rode 20 yesterday from Old Highway 97 near Okanogan to Marblemount. The chip seal project was not a problem. Go for it!

That's reassuring, though I'm riding with the state BMW club tomorrow on a four pass ride, and for some reason they're taking US-2 towards the east side instead of 20.  Should be a good 400 miler anyway.

Beamers in the faux Bavarian town of Leavenworth isn't altogether surprising. Hopefully, US-2 won't be too congested with tourist traffic.

How was the wear on the tires afterwards?

It was probably on 20 miles on packed chip seal, so no noticable wear. No loose gravel to worry about.
