Anybody add running lights?

***Sorry if this is a double post!!***
Hey everyone. I'm working on a project to mount Gixxer turn signal mirrors onto my 2000 katana. I bent corner pieces to shape to account for the difference in fairing shapes/angles and such. The current plan is to have the turn signal mirrors act as turn signals and get LED bulbs to put in the stock turn signal location and, by tapping into the headlight wiring, have those act as running lights. I was going to use other means besides the headlight, but looking at the wiring diagram it made sense.
Questions: What gauge wire is used for Suzuki headlights? What gauge wire is used for the stock turn signal wiring? Due to the new turn signals I need to be able to disconnect the turn signals without removing the fairing so I need to extend the right turn signal wire so it is behind the 3rd mini light up front.
I got some pictures of progress so far. Any advice/comments/ideas?

Here's my turn signal conversion write-up on Katriders. On the second page dieselguy65 posts a simpler way of converting the turn signals. I have yet to try it as my electronic gizmo is still working.

Thanks! Apparently my ability to use the search feature properly isn't as developed as I thought. I do know that nobody has really tried the GSXR turn signal mod too much, or at the very least written about it.
