It should be quite competitive to the Street Triples in performance, at least more than the smaller Monsters have been. I was hoping Ducati would make this move.
Will it be competitive to the Triumphs in price as well? That is more doubtful.

C'mon, you gotta pay to play Ducatisti.
I love the 848-- but I'm too old and decrepit to ride it. It will be interesting to see what the riding position is like on the nekkid version.

Not ridden, just sat on... so its hardly a thorough analysis. More of a knee jerk impression, but I felt they didn't really do much about going w/ a standard conversion. It felt about as comfortable as a 1098 to me. So, I'm sure its an awesome ride, but for me... street fighters are supposed to have a more survivable riding position than a super bike.

Ducati has a lot of naked bikes; Hypermotard, Monster & Streeetfighter.
The Multi is semi naked, and of course the Diavel.
Kind of catches you off guard.

I've ridden one...hit triple digits even. The immediacy of me realizing I needed to hang on for dear life when accelerating still puts a huge sh*t-eating grin on my face whenever I think about it. However...
Why the EFF does Ducati insist on having the exhaust placed where it is on the Streetfighter & Diavel? Its placement behind the peg pushes your right heel out to an unnatural angle.
With an 848 Streetfighter out there, the Monsters will not even register for me.

If they put a plush seat on this thing with Monster ergos, they'll sell a ton. If they don't, it'll sell just about as well as the big Streetfighter.

So, how does one fight the streets when on a streetfighter? Can I ride my versys on the same route as a person on a streetfighter or is it not aggro enough? Will the streets kick my ass when I ride my CBR? Seriously, streetfighter is the gheyest term even invented in the motorcycling world.

No, I am certainly not. I hope it didn’t come across that way. Maybe all the streetfighting I am exposed to when I ride to work has affected my attitude. All of these streetfighters fight the streets so hard. Most of them lose actually. It’s like a fucking scene from Mad Max.

"Sport-Tourer" is more misleading than "Streetfighter".
A sport tourer is a 700 pound touring bike that was renamed to trick the stupid in to thinking they were buying a sport bike.

"ghey" is about the stupidest fucking term on the planet. How can you possibly bitch about "streetfighter" when you use the term "ghey"?
Anyway, streetfighter is a throwback to the term as derived for naked but way sporty bikes, without the plastic and ergos suited for road racing.
AND - while the peg placement on the right foot does kind of suck on the Duc Streetfighter, it's an AMAZING ride. Ergos are comfy, not cramped for my 5'9 frame (long in leg, shorter in torso) and I never turn down a chance to ride one. Yes, they try to pull your arms off and you need to hold on for dear life if you abuse the throttle.
