I think that price is too high, but we'll see what the market thinks...

I was leaning that way... i mean, I'd have to side to side demo them, but I think I'd rather have a Speed Triple, & its the same cost.

Every time I come back to this thread I see the comments on 'ghey." I still don't get that term. I've been meaning to ask one of my gay acquantainces (who I just ran into!) but keep forgetting.
ANYWAY -
THis bike will sell. The Street Triple is one of Triumph's biggest sellers and this will dig into that market. Will be very big in Europe, pretty big in the U.S.

Yes it would be an interesting to ride those back to back. MCN's report comparing the current Streetfighter to the Speed Triple favored the Speedie for being easier to ride and more comfortable. The flipside is that the Speedie is going to feel porkier in general, and likely a shade less sporty.
The MCN editor
who tested the 848SF had high praises and predicts quite the competition in the naked segment between the SF, Speedie, and the new lower-cost Brutale 920. I'm not sure, but I don't think the Brutale 920 has a similar MSRP to the other two in the States here.

Wow. I can understand now why someone on a streetfighter can make it to their destination while I only get a couple of blocks from my house and have to turn around, go home, and exchange my motorcycle for my car. The dude in the video fought the hell out of those streets and anyone daring to share the road with him. Nice!

Just like the big Streetfighter.
I think the Monster line up looks much better. And if I wanted more speed than the 1100 EVO, I would step up to the Superbikes.

The link I posted says it will have DTC. No mention of ABS. Not too many Average Joe's buying bikes in the $12K-$13k range. Ducati's market for anything above the entry level Monster likely understands the difference between the 848 tech and 1100 tech.
No ABS because it won't fit, per this article.

The US press release of the 848 SF was this week in Palm Desert, CA.
If you get to HFL quick, you can read their review before it goes private for paid users -
http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2012/04/finally-a-real-naked-supersport/
The HFL writer was fairly critical of the suspension. Also, they are not recommending it for town riding either. But for canyons and twisties, it sounds like a good fit. So, a nice toy, but not an all-rounder.
