New rider in North Florida.

Just wanted to say hello. Bought a 2000 ZX12R last week and looking forward to doing a lot of riding soon. As you might suspect from my username I do a lot of traveling already. And you would be correct. About 100K a year. I look forward to meeting up with some fellow riders in this area. I live in High Springs. Here is a link to some pic's of my new ride.
https://picasaweb.google.com/Floridaheavyhaul/2000ZX12R?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCLW-no7I2Ne5bw&feat=directlink
I plan on doing some touring mods to the bike. Would welcome any advice. Ride safe.

If you venture north for some twisties, give me a shout. we're usually running around N.GA, E.TN, and W.NC on the weekends.
As far as advice, my first addition was a radar detector!

I am going to assume that your question is an honest attempt to ascertain how I managed to earn the funds to purchase such an awesome ride. Basically I have this really BIG truck that is attached to a really BIG trailer. Together they have 8 axles. I navigate this contraption to various businesses across the entire 48 contiguous states. (57 if your last name is Obama) Once I arrive at said business establishment, I separate the two vehicles I arrived in and drive a large piece of equipment that the aforementioned business needs to have relocated to a different part of the country onto the deck of the trailer that I pulled to the business. I then secure the piece of equipment with chains and ratchet binders. Then I navigate the Interstate highway system of the United States and deliver said piece of equipment to a different business. Where upon I reverse the loading process and leave the equipment at its new location. I do this repeatedly. And have been doing this process for many years now. I hope this answers your question. If not, suffice it to say that I am a direct reflection of my username. thanks for your interest.

Actually I am just a sarcastic wise ass. Welcome once again.
I just looked at a map of where you are. It must be armpit hot there right about now. I spent a lot of time in Fernandina. It was nasty there even with an ocean breeze.

Welcome.
I've been wanting to visit Ichitucknee this summer. I haven't been there in 20 years. Has it changed much? Let me know if you come up Jax way.

I have only been to Ichnetucknee (think that is spelled correctly) once. I have been to Ginny Springs twice. So I am assuming they haven't changed much. I live about 200 ft. from the Santa Fe River. The level there goes up and down quite a bit. And yes the weather here generally sucks year round, as far as I am concerned. Today it sucks really bad. One of the main reasons I drive a truck is to stay the hell out of Florida. I HATE Florida. Only good thing I can say about it is that there is no state income tax. We came here for my wifes job. I am from out west. I didnt like humidity in Vietnam, and I still dont. And yes, I am an old fart. 62, to be exact. Was well aware of the sarcasm Mr. Black. I also exhibit that trait. Will let you know when I head to Jax on the bike.

Welcome
I would guess that you bought a fast bike so as to get you as far away from Florida as quick as possible
I spent my summers there as a child; I hate it. And yes, I'm a west coaster as well and moved east because of my husband's job. We're just biding our time before we go back though

Might want to check the coast to coast ride in N Fl on November 12. Look for the coast to coast web site. Just a day ride but it covers some great roads in N Fl. I am from Atlanta and never new N Fl had so many good roads
