Just has a 50 mile "test" ride on the Duc 1200s Touring Multistrada.

I am a little short in the inseam, the bike is a little high, but the ergos when riding are excellent for me.

The power settings are actually useful. I found the sport mode, with the full 150HP available a little to sudden for "normal riding" and left it in "Urban" mode at 100 HP for most of the ride. Even in urban mode, the front wheel wants to go sailing.

The handlebars are wide, like an enduro, and the bike is well balanced and handles like a ducati, that is, very well. When stopping at lights, I didn't need to put my foot down unit a second or too after stopping, the MST is that well balanced.

Since I am $20K short of being a Ducatista, I can only say I am only one lottery ticket short of a new MST1200.  I am buying into the idea that this bike is a sport bike, street bike, touring and enduro (Though I really didn't go on any unpaved roads, seems Ducati frowns on that.

I previously rode a Monster (disliked the ergos) and a GT1000, which is a little more in my price range. I like the GT,  but hard bags are not available, and I like the power and sophistication of the MST.

So, while I wait for the that winning Lottery ticket, I have to be content with the fond memory of the ride and those umbrella girls.

If they threw in the umbrella girl, could they get you into the Multi?

I'm about 20K short of an umbrella girl too...

I understand if you win enough in the lottery, you can have as many umbrella girls you want.....

I wish the Triumph demo truck came with umbrella girls.  That Ducati truck doesn't go very many places..

I was very impressed with the MTS12 on my test ride as well.  Very powerful bike!

It really tries, and is, in my limited experience, one bike to rule 'em all.
I even managed to sink the back wheel a good four inches into some soft sand, fully loaded, two up, and the DTC allowed only enough wheelspin to power out of the hole.
No drama.
If it had a cruise control and airconditioning, I'd sell the Volkswagen...

I went in for a look by chance, was convinced to take for test ride, hashed out a smoking deal, the only thing they did not do was to wine and dine me. Bought it the same day after I tried to tell myself not to, but I don't listen to anybody anyway, not even when its me talking

The Multi is at the top of my list as a potential replacement for the KTM.  Give it a year or two more and let's see how much $$$ I can save up.

The ride was just under 50 miles. The 2 hours was including about 30 minutes of video and bragging.

No strong sales pressures.

If I had the $, this IS the bike I would buy. It does everything I want it to and very well indeed.

The power is over the top. After tinkering around in the "Sport" mode, I went back to "Urban" mode. The bike has brutal power in sport mode, but even at 100HP in Urban, it was plenty powerful.

I was favoring the GT1000 because I like naked bikes, but the MST is much more versatile. I prefer the Touring , I like the bags.

If I had any complaints, it is a little high (I have a 29" inseam, could not flat foot it) and the pegs are well placed for me, but if you put the ball of your foot on the pegs, there is no rest for the heels. I have grown to like that feature on my NH750, but if anyone want's to give me a MST, I promise not to complain. I even go as far as to dig out my Wedding shoes from 1978 that have 3 inch heels on them so I can touch the ground.
