Does anyone know of a Russell seat group-buy coming up or starting one up.  I want one and would really like the 20% savings that can be had with a group-buy.

Yes, (one of) the FJR forum(s) has had a number of group buys, during the slow season. I got my Russell 3~4 years ago at 20% off.

You know, if this was an actual "group buy!" thread and not a "is there a group buy?" thread, then I'd agree with you  Bigok

Annually for the past 3 or 4 years (at least). http://www.fjrforum.com tends to be where the word gets out. It's offered by Russell during their slow season. Usually this kicks off around October or so with a December kick off date.

I would be down for this.  What is the average price on a Russell job? Can anyone compare one to a Sargent seat?

I have to do something.
Everytime I ride my new Ninja 1000 I am all like "Damn this bike is so comfy"  Cool then two hours in it's "GET ME OFF THIS PHUCKING SEAT"  Lol

my wife is miserable in about 15 min on the wanna-be pillion seat.  Crazy

I finally put one on the FJR after using a Corbin, which I liked for me but the S.O. hated.

Once you go Russell, you will never go back.

Hit their web site and price out your options. It's a custom seat so pricing is entirely dependent on the choices you make.

I cannot locate the weight of them seats....which is a big consideration for FJR riders.

I did an IBA 1500/24 hr. on a Day Long and the ONLY time I even thought about my ass, was when my riding buddy would stand up on his pegs to shake it out a little.  LMAO
You can't slide around on the seat when you carving canyons but if you are going to be riding more than 300 or 400 mile days, you can't get ANYTHING better.

Interestingly, sent mail to Russell last night inquiring about retaining heat in my '11 R1200RT seat and inquired about group buys. They said they didn't have one going on now and won't know if they're going to do one until late October/first of November.

To those that have bought in a group buy, is the discoount on the entire seat order including options or just the base price of the seat?
