Been riding my 2008 C14 in to work pretty regularly.  Rode in today and yesterday and both days I had plugged my cell phone in on way in to work.  I mention this because tonight when I went to leave work, the bike fired but immediately stalled.  This has never happened before.  I clicked the starter a second time and it fired up.  I then drove 30+ miles and stopped an my Chiro for an appt.  When I came out and clicked the starter, she bogged and groaned a bit, but did start.  I then headed for home.  I'm about 3 - 4 miles from home going down a hill when the bike just stopped running.  A red light in the upper left corner lit up and then everything just went blank.  No lights, no gauges, nothing. Headscratch

I brought battery home and have it on a tender because I fried my regular charger last week.  It appears to be taking a charge, but is not fully charged yet.  I did put battery back in and tried again, but nothing.  I have my heated grips wired directly on a lighted switch and that did work.

Thoughts?   Is this a battery issue?

Check your circuit board.  Could also be the O2 sensor.

Hope I don't sound too stupid here, but how does one check the circuit board and what exactly am I looking for?  Shouldn't the bike at least turn on (i.e. electronics fire up)?

Note that when I try to turn key on, it's almost like when you don't have your key fob in that the key doesn't want to turn.

No O2 on the USA models.

That does sound pretty odd.  No clue what it could be.

I had the same thing happen, for me it was just loose battery connections.

Battery is fully charged now, but I didn't have a chance to try it this morning before work.  Will give it a go tonight when I get home.  There was quite a bit of corrosion (acid buildup) on the negative terminal and I cleaned that up as well.  I'm hoping that's all it is/was.

Mine did the stall thing, and then completely quite working, while riding one day.... Turned out to be a bad batt connection. Tightened the terminals down, and haven't had any issues sense. Hopefully it's just that. Best of luck.

Good news.  Bike is running now.

Put fully charged battery back in and nothing, but knew I had power to my heated grips that are wired direct.  So, I tore the fairings off and started tracing wires when my friend stopped over to help out.  We found the ignition wires and checked for power. Nothing.  We trace back to fuse boxes under the seat.  No power.  wth?

So, we pull the battery out and find there's a 30 amp fuse behind the battery that is blown.  After steeling a fuse from the truck and put it in the bike, it's running.  No idea what blew the fuse to begin with though.  Oh yeah, after steeling the fuse and putting it in, we ground there's a spare 30 amp fuse attached to the box.

All good now.

Rode about 200 miles today with foosnut.  Bike ran fine.  Makes me wonder what the hell made that fuse blow to begin with.
