Electric helmet shield with Gerbings troller question?

I was looking to get one of these heated snowmobile shields for my HJC Sy-Max before the cold months get here. I ride all year round, and have been thinking of getting one of these for a while. Plus I'm thinking of doing a sub-zero saddle sore this winter, and this would be nice to have
http://www.snowcitymi.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=131
It's the right shield for my helmet, and it's a simple resistive loop like a heated jacket. My question is, this should work fine running off a channel on my dual zone Gerbings controller? If I am not mistaken, they control heat by pulsing the current at different intervals and durations. So 12v is 12v, and should work fine in this case?
I figure draw wise it would be about the same as the gloves, so shouldn't be an issue there.
Sorry if it's a stupid question, I just prefer facts to assumptions.

You will be fine although I do not understand why you would want to add it to the controller and not direct to a 12v source.
It is to defog or defrost you face shield not heat your face. A switched 12v should do the trick.
The only reason I could think is that you have an extra connector on your controller and you do not want to run extra wiring.
The only drawback I can think of is that your faceshield may require more heating than that of your body in certain weather conditions. You will only know this when you try it though.
Look forward to an update this winter. I ride year round as well and use a double pane unheated snow mobile shield that seem to work for me. Thought about a heated one but have yet to really need it.

Mostly it was for convenience and being able to turn it on and off, and not having to deal with another harness. Perhaps the heated visor is over the top, and the double pane would be fine. But would be nice to have it when you really needed, and not getting frostbite on the face because of needing to crack the visor to defog
And another reason I was thinking the controller, was that I could just turn it up enough to defog, instead of full blast. That way it would use less electrical output. My stator on the Busa is only 400 watts at 5k RPM's, so I don't have tons of excess power.

Not much help here, but.... I was in the shop today and saw the catalog for the Bell "Revolver" helmet. I was suprised to see that Bell offers a heated shield for that helmet. I may have to take a look when it's time to replace the Nolan.

Yeap, a lot of helmets are sold to both the m/c and snow machine markets (sometimes under different names). I was not that impressed with the fit and finish of the revolver myself - nor were some reviews I read.
