EOE Suzuki. Should I buy this Wee-Strom? Yes I should... Not so fast
«

I've had my eye on this Wee for a little bit now and am having a hard time deciding whether to buy or wait. I've used the coin flip app on my Droid but it isn't helping so I thought I might ask for some assistance on this one.
It's: 2009 non-ABS 650 Wee with 20,000 miles and is in "excellent" condition. He says the lowest he'd be willing to go is $5000. Goodies include a Givi 3 Hard bag luggage kit, centerstand, hand guards, Givi touring windscreen, mirror relocation kit.
Now I haven't looked at it yet due to my schedule but hopefully I'll be able to look at it Wednesday.
Do you'all think this is a decent price? Is there anything I should check out specifically? I have perused the stromtrooper forum but you guys are the true experts
Help me!!!

NADA value (for my area) is $4,280 to $5,630, so $5k with full 3-case set and centerstand is a good deal. Hit it! You know you want it when you are using a coin flip app!

$5K for a nicely farkled Wee is a fair price. $4500 would be a very good price (considering the miles).

The color is orange which I normally wouldn't be into but Halloween is right around the corner
The Thrux is staying. I bought the Thrux last fall right after my daughter was born knowing that I wasn't gonna be doing any week long trips this summer. My plan was to get something a little more long distance friendly this fall/winter/next spring. Also I wouldn't mind a bike that isn't sceered of dirt roads. I can't afford a Tiger 800XC
and the Wee is a nice cheap (all be it ass-ugly) alternative. I was kinda hoping to find a cheaper, older, maybe even slightly beat-up version that somebody already "farkled" out but this seems like a decent deal.
I really shouldn't be buying any bike right now but my garage would be complete for many years if'n I do.

If I did buy this bike I think a trip to the northeast would be a nice shakedown ride. It would have to be next year and may or may not involve Mr. Clubbers....

20,000 miles on a Wee is nothing. And with all those farkles on it, that sounds like a darned good price. I'd bite if it were in my area, for sure. My dealer gave me 4400.00 as a trade in on my '07 Wee when I bought my GSX 1250. My wee had 30,000 miles on it, and I had been riding it for 2.5 years. They then turned around and sold it within a week for 6000.00. If the bike has had all its scheduled service, and has no history of problems, 5000.00 sounds like a fair price.

Well, I gave the Wee a testy and it was exactly what I expected. A little bland with a little character, ugly, comfortable as hell with quite a bit of helmet buffeting. The buffeting seems to be an issue with some people but sounds like most can remedy it with different screens and/or brackets. The tires were brand new and the bike looks showroom clean. I want but not sure if I want enough. Gonna have to do some thinkin on this one

Did you get it out on some rough roads? Thats where you notice you can fly over the bumps and potholes because of the long travel suspension. Rough roads are about all we got up here.

I did not but that's another reason the Strom is appealing to me. Michigan roads aren't know for their smoothness

You can find used Tiger 955s with the same mileage or less in the same price range or less. You will not find it bland, and having just riden some of those Michigan roads (gravel ones) the suspension smoothes them out right nice.
Just sayin ya know.

I thing "Orangutan Orange" would be a fitting color title.
